I Suppose the Baby Can Come, As Well-A December 2013 PTR Updated 12/13* TR Link Up

I've seen your posts on FB and have felt terrible for you. It's one thing to have all that happen at any time, but I can only imagine how stressed you are considering how close the trip is. I'm sorry to hear that you're not excited about the trip, but I can certainly understand. I'm praying that things start looking up for you and that you all feel 100% very, very soon!

Thanks. It's definitely bad timing. Alex keeps mentioning that I could've gotten sick any of the 11 other months out the year, but that's just bad luck coming into play. :confused3

Wow... I feel your pain. Literally. DS had that in July 2012. And subsequently gave it to me. :faint:

It cleared up for him after only a couple of days. I was home from work for a week before it finally cleared up. And I don't think I've ever felt as miserable and awful as I did that week. I couldn't stand to eat because of the mouth/throat part, I had a ridiculously high fever and just generally felt like crap. On the bright side, it was during the Olympics, so I at least got to sit around the house and watch a lot of things I'd never see otherwise. :lmao:

Anyway, I feel your pain. Take care of yourself and get well soon. It does seem to be slow to go away, but I'm sure you'll be fine in time for the trip. :thumbsup2

Hand, Foot, Mouth is awful. I used to work in a childcare center, so I knew kids get it pretty easily. But I never expected to come down with it. I felt kind of ridiculous telling people what was wrong with me. :rotfl2:

Keeping my fingers crossed for you to feel better! As long as you are feeling good on vacation, the house can be cleaned when you get home. :goodvibes

Thanks! Yeah, at this point, packing is much more important than cleaning. :lmao:

Oh my goodness, so sorry for all the sickness at your house! I hope everyone's doing a lot better!

Hello everybody! :wave2:

Long time no talk. I'm sorry I have fallen behind on everyone's TRs, haven't DISed much this week. I'll have access to our ipad starting tomorrow, though, so whenever I can I'll get on and catch up.

This morning marked 7 days on our Disney countdown!

:cheer2::cool1:

A week!

Only one week left!

By this time next week, I'll be eating dinner at Kona Cafe, staring at Cinderella's Castle.

Ahhhh!

Honestly, my mind hasn't connected the dots yet. It hasn't really hit me yet that I'll be in Disney soon.

But, boy oh boy, when it does....

:rotfl2:

Watch out!

Right now, Alex is upstairs sleeping so that we can get on the road sometime around 1am. Landon has been sleeping like a rock the past 2 days, so he should be pretty easy to transfer from crib to carseat.

Earlier today, we dropped our puppy dog, Buster off at my paren'ts house. He'll be spoiled rotten the next two weeks. First, by my mom. Then, by my younger brother. He'll have an acre of land to run around on, another dog to steal treats from, and 2 cats to terrorize.

A dog's paradise.

:lmao:

Our car's all packed, and somehow, miraculously, everything fit easily.

Hallelujah!

And by tomorrow, my gang will be in Cape Canaveral visiting family.

We're about 5 hours away from the official start of vacation.

On a little more somber note, Landon and I are still sick.

:crazy2:

I saw 3 different health physicians in this past week, trying desperately to get on the right meds and begin mending. And while I did finally get on the right path Friday afternoon, I'm still not feeling my best.

And, unfortunately, my medicine (and Landon's) goes all the way until Thursday of our Disney trip.

It's changed our touring plans a little bit, but I am trying to look at it in a positive light. While I still might not feel well, at least I'll be in Disney.

It's worth the suffering.

:rotfl:

(And just as a disclaimer, it's not contageous, so I won't be walking around, infecting innocent bystanders. :lmao:)

The most annoying part is I now have an entire bag of medicine.

I feel ridiculous...

No lie, between Landon and myself, we have 8 scripts.

Jeez...

And if that wasn't enough, I'm leaving when a friend/ former coworker isn't doing well. She was hospitilized earlier this week, ended up delivering her daughter at 29 weeks, and is now in a very serious condition. Her health's been declining, and it's a little tough knowing I'll be out of town. It's hard to help when you aren't nearby.

Not to mention, it will take a bit away from the joy of Disney if her condition doesn't improve. :guilty:

But, I am choosing to look on the bright side. She can regain consciousness any minute and meet her daughter, who's doing amazingly well for all that it's worth.

It just leads me to mixed feelings about this trip.

I almost think sometimes the world's doing everything in my power to not get me to Disney.

Oh well....it's happening. Come heck or high water!

:goodvibes

Wow, that sounds really rough! Not the way you want to start a vacation, that's for sure. At least you and Landon are hopefully on track to feeling better soon. That's really tough with your friend! I hope she improves quickly. Drive safe and enjoy your time with family while you're recovering! I'll be hoping for the best with everyone's health.

Sorry to hear you've been dealing with so much. I hope that things turn around and that you're able to enjoy Disney!

Prayers for your coworker. I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.

It definitely is too bad that you have to deal with so many prescriptions and not feeling well, but at least you'll be at Disney World! It would be even worse if you were feeling bad enough that you couldn't even go. I'm sure you'll manage fine.

Have a great time! :thumbsup2

Definitely not a great start to the vacation :( I hope you and Landon feel better soon and enjoy your trip. Reminds me of how our trip started... Although it was a broken foot and dying uncle (who held out til memorial day) lots of prayers going to your friend and her baby, and your family as well. Safe travels!

Oh dear. I've been watching on Facebook and I was hoping you would be feeling much better by now. I hope things turn around for you and Landon very soon.
How awful about your co-worker! I so hope she improves too.
On the bright side, it's vacation time! I hope you all have a fantastic time!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. It is much appreciated.:goodvibes

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. We've got a huge family get together, which will be fun. 15 people, 2 kids under 1, all in a condo!

:rotfl2:

However, dinner is being cooked by a former chef/restaurant owner/ my father in-law, so I can't complain. Some of it was prepped last night, and it smelled delicious. Do you know how hard it is to open the fridge, smell the stuffing, and NOT take a bite...:rotfl: My resolve is strong!

I'm still getting through all my medicine, but I'm on vacation, so I can't complain too much. Yeah, I might not be feeling 100%, but I can take a short walk to the beach every day.

It makes up for it.

:lmao:

Alex and I are in shock that Disney is just 3 days away for us. We get through Turkey Day, Black Friday (Alex, not me) and re-packing all our crap, and it'll be time to meet the mouse!

Landon's been a little fussy this week, but he's met approximately 9 new family members/friends in a completely unknown place, so all things considered, he's holding up. I'm hoping once it goes back to being just Alex and myself and my mother, who he knows, he'll calm down a bit.

Now, off to catch up on some of you guy's reports while I have a free minute.

I just had to hop on here one last time to say....

I'M GOING TO DISNEY TOMORROW!!!!! :woohoo:

I can't believe the big day is almost here. In just 17 short hours, the three of us will be perusing Downtown Disney with our pin lanyards on, our park bag at the ready, and our MagicBands waiting to be activated.

Tonight should prove interesting, though. Landon has decided he HATES his Pack and Play, so this whole week we've been getting up every 2 hours at night. :faint:
It hasn't been too big of a deal here, because there's plenty of family to pawn him off on so we can nap. Trying to tour Disney, though....hmmm, it will prove to be an interesting experiment.

I might be making a makeshift crib on the Pop floor for him. :)

Anyways, I will be back in a week (or longer......oooh, interesting! what does that mean?) to catch up on reports. Hopefully, I won't fall too behind.

Talk to everyone soon!

Happy Disney Eve! I hope you and Landon are feeling better. Sorry to hear he isn't sleeping well (TOTALLY sympathize) Gavin became too tall for the pack n play right after we got back for our trips in May (just before 10 months old. The week after Disney World we had two mini trips) so I'm glad we don't have to go anywhere in the near future... just do what you have to do to get him to sleep while you are on vacation and deal with the after math when you get home :rotfl2: for us it was a mix of co-sleeping and pack n play sleeping. But I think I mentioned he STTN twice on vacation for us, and gave us long stretches the other nights. I think because he was taking so many naps and was worn out from so much going on (for us good naps = better night sleeping) so hopefully the same is true for Landon. And bonus, for a while after we had returned from Disney Gavin slept decent. We didn't have any issues getting him to sleep in his crib in his room even though he slept in the PnP next to our bed in Disney/on the other two mini trips and on us/in bed with us the rest of the time.

Have a great time!

I hope you're having a wonderful time and feeling good!

I also really hope that Landon decides a Pack 'n' Play is acceptable for sleeping. I'm a bit concerned about that for our trip too, as she's had more wake-ups in the PnP than in her crib.

Have a magical time!

You are in WDW for Landon's first trip!!! Congratulations!!! :cool1: I hope it is a fabulous trip. I hope Landon is like my kids always are at Disney World, so tired they can sleep anywhere.

I hope you're having a great time!

Hopefully Landon is cooperating and sleeping ok for you.

Hi everyone!

Long time no talk. :rolleyes1

After two weeks away from home, walking on the beach, seeing several Disney ships in port, and spending an incredible 7 nights at Walt Disney World, my little family has returned home.

:(

Actually, we all got back into town late on the 8th, but it's been too hectic at my house to get on the DISboards. Landon has been a NIGHTMARE since leaving the world. At this very moment, he's telling me off in baby garble from his exersaucer.

He misses WDW more than all of us!
:lmao:

This Disney trip was extremely different than all the ones I've taken in the past. I couldn't even compare them if I tried. Traveling with an infant is not for the faint of heart; it was a learning experience if nothing else.

I won't lie and say my trip was sunshine and rainbows the entire time. There were extreme highs and extreme lows. Moments that I wished would never end, and moments were I wanted nothing more than to be back in my own home.

Overall, though, sitting here at my computer desk, I'm surprised at how much I miss being on vacation. You forget about those tiny details when you're on your trip, such as remembering to give the dog his flea medicine on time or unloading the dishwasher. But once you're back home and reality has set in, all those little chores you forgot about while in the world come rushing back, and you forget about those nasty events that tainted your trip.

What it all boils down to is that every Disney trip is a different experience. Some are going to be better than others, and some are going to teach you what to do and what not do in the future. No matter what little hiccups we encountered along the way, we all had an amazing time and Alex has already picked a return day. :rotfl:

Give me a few days to sort through the photos (there's only over 2,000 of them!) and order our PP CD (only 250 on that one!) and then I'll start my trip report. A link will appear on here, eventually. And until then, I'll try catching up on all the reports I fell behind on!

I just wanted to pop in here and say that I officially started my trip report!

:cool1:

I'm determined to stay on the ball with this one.

I'd love for you all to read it, and if you feel so inclined, here is the link:
