I Successfully Graduated College Without Ever...

I graduated college (the first time) without ever missing a class and without going on a date....::sigh:: sad isnt it?

My graduate term paper was about the legal issues regarding search and seizure of backpacks and lockers in school and the 4th amendment. Try not to get too excited about that, now!!! :bored:
I successfully graduated college without ever being single (not necessarily a good thing), ever failing a class or taking an incomplete (that's a good thing), or ever having perfect attendance in a class (I subscribe to Ferris Bueller's theory of school attendance - still do, even as a teacher!). :teacher:

I graduated from college w/o ever having to write my final paper about my internship. I suppose b/c my internship turned into my full-time job in my junior year, the department chair let it slide.

I was the only one in my major working full-time in my field before finishing my degree! I was a broadcast journalism/advertising/communications major and got my degree in that. At graduation, 2 years of heading the promotions department at a local radio station!!!

After graduation and many years in radio and advertising, I decided to get my degree in education!

I wrote many papers in college, since I majored in English, but I used the same title for about half of them. It started when one class had two major papers for the semester. When I was about to hand in the second one, I realized that it had the same title as the one I had handed in at midterm. The title was perfect for both of them (I don't recall what it was now), so it was fine.

After that, I continued to use that same title any time it made sense. No one else knew about it, but it made me smile. :) I did have a topic that I was really interested in, and I'd apply it to my different literature classes when I could because I wanted to see how it applied in different genres, time periods, etc. If I hadn't been in a rush to graduate and get married, I would have done a disertation for an honors degree or for Master's work and worked to put all those papers together into one.

And you are proud of this, why? If you don't do the work, you are only hurting yourself. You paid to learn. Doesn't sound to me like you took advantage of the possibilities you paid for. JMHO.

I can't answer for OP, but in my case I never really learned anything from doing homework. I was able to learn the stuff in my major (math) usually just by reading it once or twice. I had the top grade point in my major so I obviously learned at least as much as anyone else. And Tulane is a VERY good school. At least it was before Katrina - let's hope it comes back okay.

This would have broken the plagiarism rules at my school for sure. We were told of the rules at the beginning of every class, every semester. That was absolutely against the academic integrity policies of my institution and I do believe it is a fair rule. I can't imagine having to write so few papers. I was a psychology major (and am in graduate school in a psychology program now) and I can assure you I wrote more papers than 2 "form" papers could have addressed as the topics were not that easily generalized.

I learned a lot from many of my papers. Some I did not, but most were very useful and informative.

In regards to the actual question, I successfully graduated college without ever drinking a beer.

Years ago, maybe 8 or 9, I was taking a Mythology class at the community college. One of our assignments was to visit the National Gallery of Art in DC and write a paper on the mythological themes we saw in some of the paintings.
At the time, I worked a full time job, part time job and was taking 4 classes. I had no time to go visit a museum, so I went to the library and checked out a book on the National Gallery paintings. Wrote my paper. Prof was getting ready to hand them back and handed them back in a particular order and said we could leave when we got ours back. I was last. Why, you ask? She wanted to ask if I'd really gone to the museum. I confessed and told her what I'd done and the reason. She said she already knew because one of the paintings I'd written about hadn't been there for 3 or 4 years now. :rotfl:

She said that since I'd been honest with her when she asked, she was going to let my grade stand (A), but that if I had a legitimate reason in the future for not completing an assignment as specified, to come see her first.

Well...technically it's not plagiarism, though I totally understand how it could violate a code of conduct or honor code.

Right, but that's the policy it falls under...Overall they are plagiarism rules.
