I was just posting and added something that reminded me about this.

If your coming to visit WDW every day at 5:00pm they lower the flag in main street, and in true Disney fashion they put on quite a show complete with doves being released.

This is a must see even if you only see it just once, these days it has a very special meaning, but for as long as I can remember every single time I see it, I cry like a baby.

The day I don't cry will be the day I worry, I'm not alone either there are a lot of big strong men, and women in the crowd doing the I have something in my eye wipe.

So if you get a chance catch the flag lowering and bring tissues because when the music starts so do the tears.

Now a trivia question there are quite a few flags around main street, but only two are at half mast right now, which two, and why others flying high at the top.

Pintrader and Gotanypins stay out of this one, we were all there when we got the answer.

Raul and Pinboy,

That's something I'll look forward to in Nov.

My guess at the trivia question - The two flags are the US flag and State flag of Florida. The reason why the other flags are at full height, even though the US flag is at half mast, is because they are not higher in altitude than the US flag. ie the US flag is still higher than the others.

Something like the royal subjects heads could be no higher than the King's head. (At least that's what was in the movie the King and I. And isn't it because it was said in a movie it's true?)

Just a wild guess, I don't remember much of Main Street and I was there in July.

Ooooo close but no cigar, try again please. come on Disney people this is easy.

No fair emailing Donna or Kathryn they are sworn to secrecy.

I think they are the one at the Flag Retreat and the one over Town Hall. The other Flags are really "banners" that look like American Flags at a distance. (Can you just picture all the raising and lowereing that would have go on each day if they all were real!)

Yes they are called banners they are turn of the century flags, and only have 48 stars on them. The 50 star flags are located on train station platform, and main street as you enter.

JudySue is right and therefore crowned queen of the boards so say I, all those in favor.

All those appossed.

The I's have it, your the queen until pintrader responds to the post to re-claim her title. :D
