I spent the day in the ER with my son today.

Ok, he is feeling a bit better today, though still complaining of a little belly pain around his belly button and to the right. We saw his primary care doctor and she examined him and palpated his belly. She strongly feels that we aren't dealing with an appendicitis, but perhaps mesenteric adentitis? She said right now we essentially wait and see... he is eating a plain bage and drinking ginger ale, temp is 99.4, and he resting on the couch. If he gets any severe abdominal pain or spikes a temp she said we should go back to ER and start that process over again. HOPEFULLY he will just keep feeling better.

Aw man, I'm sorry that you're still dealing with this. I've never even heard of mesenteric adentitis. I just looked it up and found this...

Mesenteric lymphadenitis occurs mainly in children and teens and often mimics the signs and symptoms of appendicitis. Unlike appendicitis, however, mesenteric lymphadenitis is seldom serious and clears on its own in a few days or weeks.

Good news that it is seldom serious! But bummer that your little guy is still not feeling well. I really feel for you that you still have to keep a watch out and could end up back at the ER. This has been a long week for you, I'll say!

Please let us know how he's feeling over the weekend! :grouphug:

Sorry your dealing with this. I hope it gets better soon!
