My husband and I are admittedly crazy. I was playing around with the DxDP worksheet vs our TIW discount w/ the places we currently planned on going with the menu items we would most likely order. Turns out – DxDP was at breakeven point before snacks & unknown desires for breakfasts entered the picture even with the two out of plan dinners we are planning. So I figured why not try DxDP this trip & not worry about the money we are spending on the meals. Plus w/ some of the menu changes I’m sure are going to occur because of free dining, might as well just deal with it. We are staying club level (yay discount codes!) at the Boardwalk so most breakfasts will be in the lounge.

We’re planning on keeping our alcohol consumption to V&A and the F&W Events/Booths outside of the CL evening offerings w/ beer & wine & cordials. I don’t have much faith in that plan. At least I still have the TIW card for our alcohol…

Reviews will most likely be live. I know I have to have internet while we are there because of work obligations (yuck) so might as well make use of it for the fun stuff too! :rolleyes1

Snack Credits
– 28

Will mostly go to F&W Booth Goodies as I don’t see us really having a need for snacks in the parks.

At least at this point, we have the flexibility to use our points unwisely and get a breakfast or two from either room service, Cat Cora’s place, Captain’s Grill or wherever and not have to worry about it. We aren’t big breakfast people but I know my husband enjoys a real breakfast ever now and again. We also do not enjoy buffets. When talking it over with my husband about the extra credits, I was told I'm not allowed to take us on character buffet breakfasts.

As you can see I have 3 lunches undecided. I’m going to play around with the Online Dining Reservations and see if anything strikes my fancy, if not, we’ll just do counter service or something. I’m not sold on Raglan Road this trip and am trying to figure out if anything comes out to me as wanting to try.

Sounds like a fun trip. Looking forward to your reiews.

That...alot of the F&W Booth Goodies...you can use your snack credits to buy these Goodies? The F&W would show the DDP symbol by the items that you can use as snack credits at each of the booth locations.

Looks great so far. Have fun!!!
Thanks! We are planning on having tons of it :)

Thanks for joining in!

It is! For the past few years you have been able to use the DDP snack options for anything food (no alcohol) at the booths. There is a lot on the list that we think we may try. Luckily at the Boardwalk, we'll most likely just walk back and forth in the afternoon during our relax time and try a couple things so it won't be a lot at once. I've been attending the F&W Festival since it started.

Cant wait to hear all about it! Take a scazillion pictures for us!

Woohoo! I am so excited to see your Jiko event review and the food and wine stuff!

Have a great time!

Great itinerary! We use our snack credits on the F&W kiosks, excellent value!:thumbsup2

Will do! Now hopefully my husband won't have issues with me & a camera at V&A as he already told me thats the one place it is not allowed per him (Well, he let me take pictures when we did the chef's table but 'that's different') Silly men.

Thanks! I'm really excited for that that event too. I need to go shopping either today or next weekend for my attire for that event & V&A. I've recently lost about 50 pounds so all my girly dressy clothes are too big. I mean I have my work business clothes but those aren't any fun.

Thanks! Looking at the kiosks menus we already have so much to try!

Really looking forward to hearing about that Jiko dinner ... how cool will that be, dining on the Savannah?

Have a great trip ... we'll be waiting to hear all about those food booths and will be ready to drool over your pictures!

2 weeks until we leave! So I figured it would be a good time to talk about the Sweet Sundays I went to last year.

I had been to this event before when it was hosted in the Odyssey and I enjoyed it much more than as there wasn't as much issues with the sound travelling.

As you checked in, we were given our cards to the assigned table. I think I was sugar.

When it got closer to the starting time, we were let in to find our tables. There we found our usual gifts of a sparkling wine bottle stopper, notebook, pencil. Introductions were made and people started getting called by table to the breakfast buffet. We were poured the Prosecco wine and dug in.

I didn't get much off of the buffet as I had a huge dinner the night before and was still full. I knew I had three desserts coming.

Alice Medrich, author of "Pure Desserts" was the guest chef.

Our first dessert was Bea's Apple Crisp that had an addition of orange zest.

I loved the actual 'crisp' part.

Our second dessert was a spiced brownie with nutmeg on top.

It was wonderful! It was just rich enough to not over do it.

The last was toffee peanut butter cookies.

I remember eating them but I dont remember anything about them. So I guess they weren't that good. :rotfl:

Our attendants were very good about refilling our wine glasses throughout the event. I must have ended up with about 4 or 5 glasses by the end of the event. It made the $75 sting a little less. I was in the middle of the room so I could still see the demostrations enough, however I felt for the people in the back by the buffet.

I told myself, if solo, I wouldn't do the Sweet Sundays again unless if was for someone like Keegan. However, my husband is joining me for his first F&W festival this trip. I told him to pick any event he would like to do.

Guess which one he picked?

Yup,

Sweet Sundays as he likes his desserts. :rolleyes1

Thanks for stopping in!

I can't wait til we are dining on the Savannah. :yay: I'm interested to see how they set it up exactly.

I'm in! I love live reports and I can't wait to see your photos and reviews of F&W. This is our first one and we are all very excited! :cool1:

I like that you've picked lots of restaurants I enjoy, and some I'll even be doing on my trip. (Victoria and Albert's). And I got a kick out of the character buffet ban from your husband. :rotfl2:

You need to show him my response. I'm going back to V&A main dining room. I'm bringing my camera. As will at least 3 other people at my table. If he needs more convincing, show him my food porn from last year's V&A report in my Nosh link from my signature. ;)

Thanks! I'm really excited for that that event too. I need to go shopping either today or next weekend for my attire for that event & V&A. I've recently lost about 50 pounds so all my girly dressy clothes are too big. I mean I have my work business clothes but those aren't any fun.

Congrats! I've lost over 50 lbs, too! I should go shopping, but I think I have something I have in my closet from a smaller size.

LOL! I did Sweet Sundays a couple of times. The first year it was introduced, you didn't get a meal. Just wine and desserts. And I even had Keegan as the chef. His stuff was also hit and miss with me. Some things I liked, but I did not like the lavender ice cream he made with one of his desserts. So even Keegan can disappoint. ;)

And I think you'll love the Jiko meal. I can't wait to see what they serve you on that.

Count me in! Sounds like fun!

Awesome! F&W is such a fun time of year to go. Just remember that trying to conquer it all in one day is impossible!

I agree about the character ban being funny. He just hates buffets in general and when you add Characters to the mix, it just becomes chaotic. Only reason Ohana is on the list is because we are meeting with a friend and her young daughter and even then he's only ok with it since they bring the food to us.

Oh he knows all about other people's food porn in V&A. We'll see what happens once we get there.

Congrats on the weight loss!!! :yay: I ended up going shopping and after finding everything I liked at Talbots on backorder, I went to Belk's and found a wonderful black & white halter dress for both V&A and the Jiko's dinner for $19.95 on the clearance rack down from around $100. It was the last one and in my size so definately a steal of a find.

I know there is a risk of disappointment no matter who the vendor is. This will actually be my 4th Sweet Sundays - I've done one with Keegan, someone I can't remember, and this past one. I love my desserts but the worth for the price has exceeded what I'm truly willing to spend on it. Similiar as to why we're doing the Jiko Signature Dinner over Party of the Senses. We may do Party of the Senses next year though as it is also something he wants to do but not as much as the other things.

Can't wait to read your reviews. This will be my first time at the F&WF and also will be staying 4 nights at BWI CL following my AKL CL stay. I am also doing the deluxe dining plan and am curious how you will spend your snack credits. Have a great trip

I'm in. We'll be there for F&W too 9/24 to 10/01. I can't wait. :cool1:
