The quart size bag for carry on liquids 3 oz or less, does it have to be a clear zip lock? I went looking for some new ones and the only ones I could find except for a super large pack had halloween designs on them. I checked the TSA website and it just says a quart size ziplock, so I should be ok right?

The reason for the clear specification is so the agents can see what's in the bag without opening it. As long as the design doesn't prevent that you should be OK. If the agent can't see what's in the bag they may ask you to take them out.

Actually the tsa website didn't even say they had to be clear (although I may have missed as I am sleep deprived today). Well maybe it will bring a smile to the tsa agents face as he looks at my mascara and hand lotion.
