I want to try to book a resort tomorrow morning. But I need to cancel a reservation or 2 to get the points. Naturally I don't want to cancel, as I am pretty sure I won't get them again. There are 5 nights open if I could free up the points and be the first to beat the clock, which I never have been able to do. If I just book the first 2 nights (if I can get them), how soon can I book the rest? Right away? If I am able to book the first 2 nights, can I then cancel the other reservation to free up the points for the next 3 and do it right then? Do I have to wait until past the first 2 I have reserved? I hope you can understand this question. Thank you for your help. I have never been the first in, beat the clock and the thousands of others, so should I not even try? I am afraid of losing the reservation I already have.

You could modify the reservation. That way you won’t lose the reservation unless you get the new one you want.

You don’t have to cancel an existing reservation, you can try to modify it to the new resort/time. If it doesn’t work out, just cancel the modification. If you need to book the 3 nights separately, you will have to wait until you are 11 or 7 months out from that date. Hope that helps

Thank you. I have never modified a reservation. Is there anything I need to know?
Also, I am taking your reply to mean I cannot "finish" it immediately after, but have to wait as if I don't have the first days to add on to.
Is that correct?
I like your name.
