I see that Baordwalk is getting a refurb. Was wondering how tired it is?

We we are booked at SS but have a waitlist in for BW standard view. But I love SS refurbishments but not its location. But if BW is tired and in need of a pick me up that may effect whether or not we want to waitlist there.

We stayed at BW this past Jan 2022, the rooms looked the same way they have for several years. I thought they were fine. I will say that we did visit RR on the same trip and after vising RR the BW did look a bit shabby. Take that for what it's worth. If you like the BW area better, then maybe you should continue with your waitlist and see what happens. The choice is really up to you.

We stayed at BWV this past May. It was ready for a refresh but certainly nothing that affected our enjoyment of the resort. Some wear and tear could be seen, but everything was clean and in working order. Some rooms are worse than others I'm sure, but I wouldn't hesitate to book there if you love the BWV location.

The last time I was at Boardwalk was in early 2020, the rooms weren't bad, but not spectacular either. I'll be happy to see them get the murphy beds. Those pull out sofas were horrible. How long should the refurb take? I heard this just when I started planning to try for a 2 bed. Not until January 2024 though.

They're OK. The pull-out sofa is not fantastic, but I made it work. The Murphy will be a big upgrade for these rooms.

I stayed in a 2 bedroom in April and a studio last week at the Boardwalk. I had no complaints- thought everything was in working order and in good shape except the thin mattress on the pullout.

Stayed in Jan, Hallways needed some attention. The white paneling and moulding was in rough shape and there was a couple plumbing leaks that damaged the ceilings near the elevators. Lobby looked great. Our room and bath was fine.

Stayed in 2 bedroom in June, 1 bedroom in Oct. no major issues. Yes, could use refreshing , and often they seem to be having plumbing or water issues somewhere, but that’s been going on since we started staying in 2012. We love the location, and resort. I do so very much wish they had dedicated 2 bedrooms, and I don’t love the layout of the bathrooms. Nothing at all about room condition though would make me not want to stay there. I don’t care if something looks a little worn or whatever, as long as it works. and the location is wonderful! walking to Epcot/HS is way better than all those extra bus stops w SS

We stayed in a 1 bedroom back in spring just for one night before a cruise and it was just awful. Everything was rundown and dirty. We will never stay there again unfortunately.

We stayed there for 2 weeks in May, & just got back from another 2 weeks 11/7.
The resort rooms & hallways are definitely in need of a refurb (mostly minor such as chipped paint, slightly stained carpet, loose knobs, slip & slide sofa cushions, etc), but we didn't encounter any major issues or dirtiness.
The lobby as usual, was stunning.
The resort is still our favorite for fantastic views, walking/boat to 2 parks, Skyliner nearby, great Community Hall, attentive staff, interior corridors, & having so much to do at night.
Btw, were you thinking of WLing a Standard View Studio or 1-bdrm? If a Studio, your chances are poor & you would be better off trying for a Garden/Pool View. BWV SV Studios are one of the hardest WDW reservations to get, even at 11 months (only AKV Jambo Club & Value are more difficult).

Here now in a studio, my only complaint is the carpet is really worn. Not using the pullout. Will be happy to see the refurb.

We were in a 1 bed at Boardwalk last Christmas and it appeared fine to us, but 1 beds often look much better than studios.

I would never stay there again. The std room we stayed in had visible water damage (water stains, mismatchEd paint) and reeked of mustiness. I was sick the moment I walked in until we left which tells me it was mold. It seemed to be one wing of rooms where the scent in the hallways went from fresh to musty.

I stayed for the first time end of October this year. It was by far the most run down room I have ever stayed at in my 12 years as a DVC owner. All the furniture was tired and chipped. At the end of the day, my wife and I like to sit outside with a beverage to unwind, but the patio section was missing chairs and table. This resort definitely needs the refurb. When refurb is complete will definitely try again because loved the location.

It’s interesting that for two or three years, it was BRV that everyone said was the worst room they’d ever stayed in and that they’d never go back until it was refurbed, and now BWV has taken on that mantle. I’m not saying it’s not true, as I’ve seen how the recently refurbed rooms at SSR are already getting dinged up a bit, but it’s just interesting to see the shift.

We were there spring break and it was a 10 out of 10. We loved it. Looked great and had a wonderful time. I’d rank it significantly higher than BCV or Swan that are in that area
