I secretly hope my DS will stay in band for all the wrong reasons....

:wizard::rotfl:I don't blame you!!!:rotfl::wizard:

and I can relate! I secretly wished my DD would switch from orchestra to band, because I remember the fun we had on band trips!!! I wanted to be a band mom and go with them!!!! Didn't happen!:sad1:

I hear you on that! DD plays flute and growing up we would talk about the high school band's trips to WDW. Then she applied and was accepted to an agricultural school that doesn't have a music program. So, where does that leave me? :confused3 I'm still trying to figure out how I can get in on the band trip. Do you think they'll let me tag along? :rotfl:

What way is your DS leaning?

Gottaluvpluto, I hope you and your DD have the time of your life.

Ohhh...I hope so too, OP!!! :mickeyjum

My DS (27yo now) went to WDW freshmen year of h.s. for Disney's Magical Music Days!!! I went as a parent volunteer. We had soooo many kids, I think 60. So many parents went. We all had a BLAST. We stayed off campus. It was a package a travel company put together for us.

The Jazz Band (DS played Jazz piano) performed at COSMIC RAYS and the Show Choir (DS was a soloist) performed at EPCOT. We were there for 5 days. It was just fabulous. Everyone, absolutely everyone had the best time. We flew down from MA. Had those huge coach buses to drive us everywhere. We did the parks and DTD!!! Wonderful memories!!!! :goodvibes

I HOPE YOU ALL GET TO GO!!! :mickeyjum

My DS's band is going on a 7 day cruise and Parents were invited. So DS, Mum, Dad and little brother are all going to be basking in the sun come December. Its not Disney. It is a Princess cruise so I keep sing the love boat theme song to him....lol

Sorry, not with you at all. I've done these school trips and they are NOTHING like going on vacation, and do nothing for my Disney Fix nor my time with my family. They are all about the school and schedules, etc.

No one here in band, but DD's dance studio will be performing at WDW! I knew all those years of competitions and recitals would benefit me one day! LOL!!!

This is not about going with your family...this is about going with your son or daughter on a school trip to WDW. The kiddos are there with all their friends, traveling, performing, making school memories. The parents are there with all their friends, laughing and enjoying each other while at the same time having the opportunity to see there son or daughter PERFORM in WALT DISNEY WORLD.....magical memories for sure.

Yes, there is allot of responsibility in trips like this BUT when you have groups performing like this and parents wanting their kids to experience adventures such as this, you also find parents that SUPPORT the trip, come together and see the trip through.

:wizard:

And I thought I was the only one!!!! My DS is in 7th grade. His school WDW rotation is when he is in 9th grade. I will bawl my eyes out if I see him walking down Main street. I can't wait!:cheer2:
