I Saw Mommy Kissing Goofy Claus - Dec '09 - DAY ONE, FINALLY (2/20) - PG# 40

What a bummer about the birthday party! And don't feel bad about the number of people you have coming...we do the same thing!

What a bummer about the birthday party! And don't feel bad about the number of people you have coming...we do the same thing!

Then you understand not being able to "cut the list" - any one of those people would be hurt if they weren't invited! The list has shrunk a lot since last year. Somewhere in DF head he thought that everyone who came to the baby shower was invited to the 1st birthday - thank God not even half showed!

I have been doing some playing around with our dining and days. I am looking for feedback, opinions & help!

Sunday Dec 6
Arrive at CBR around 12 noon
The afternoon is a blur. Do we hit up DTD? Lunch at Shutters? Lunch at Earl of Sandwich? Lunch SOMEWHERE :confused3
We will be heading to HS (EMH til 11PM) for the evening and will check out Osborne Lights (we won't have any other night at HS - read below)

Monday Dec 7
Magic Kingdom Day - 9 AM to 11PM
Breakfast: CP (maybe... open to other suggestions... we're going for the food, not a big Pooh Bear fan...)
Lunch: HELP!
Dinner: Cinderella's Gala Feast @ GF (this could be swapped for the evening of the 10th - again, read below)

Tuesday Dec 8
Epcot Day - 9AM to 9:30PM
Breakfast: Akershus
Lunch: Coral Reef
Dinner: Teppan Edo (if there is some other Dinner that you think is TO.DIE.FOR - please let me know, we are sway-able on this one)

Wednesday Dec 9
Animal Kingdom Day - 9AM to 8PM
Breakfast: 8:00AM ressie is already in at Tusker House - with Erin!!!
Lunch: Picnic in the Park (another swayable... any thoughts?)
Dinner: Yak & Yeti

Thursday Dec 10
Hollywood Studios Day - 9AM to 8PM / MVMCP - 7PM to 12AM
Breakfast: Ohana (sway-able)
Lunch: Hollywood & Vine Play & Dine (could swap for breakfast)
Dinner: HELP!!! We will want to be to MK for MVMCP no later than 7 and plan to have a 5PM dinner ressie... somewhere!

Friday Dec 11
Departure Day :sad1:
Breakfast: Chef Mickey's, one last goodbye to the Mouse! Will probably plan a later ressie, like 9:30 - yes that is "late" for me :lmao:
The rest of the day is open, we may hit DTD or another park. ME to the airport around 4P :sad2:

Epcot and Animal Kingdom I feel the best about, it is those other two days that are driving me nuts (although, as stated before, I am sway-able on my Epcot Dinner and AK lunch). So help me out guys - what should I add, what should I drop, I feel like I can't look at another menu to decide on my own. Some options I did like and thought of fitting in were:
Breakfast: could swap CP for Supercali @ GF
Lunches: Liberty Tree or Plaza for MK day
Dinners: Kona @ the Poly or Whispering Canyon @ WL

Now wait... How about HS/MVMCP day:
Bfast: H&V Play & Dine breakfast
Lunch: Sci Fi
Dinner: Cindy's or Kona...

and MK day
Bfast: CP or Supercali
Lunch: ???
Dinner: Cindy's or Kona...

Alright - I can't even think about it anymore... turning it over to you all for some much needed help! Chime on in! Sorry for the ramblings...sometimes you just have to get it out of your head and on to some paper (or board!) - And thanks!

Hiya  Your plans sound great and so does your family! I love the costumes - I'm hopeing to lose lots weight before we go to a fancy dress party planned for next May & then I can wear one of the cheeky costumes that i've always loved to have worn! ;)

I'm sorry to hear that your party location was cancelled but i'm sure you'll have an amazing time at your house :thumbsup2

I know exactly how you feel about the stress and confusiong ADR's can cause - I nearly cancelled our whole trip because I was getting that mad with it all  Gave myself a slap, picked what was most important and now i'm back to being excited again

Have you thought about having dinner at the liberty tree tavern at 5pm before MVMCP? We did it before MNSSHP and loved it, we are doing it again this year but at 9pm after spectro & wishes

your plans look good; I can't really help w/the ressies but
on the HS day I would do the play & dine for breakfast that's just me w/ sci fi for lunch...I just feel it would flow better...and I have heard alot of great things about Kona!

we loved "Earl of Sandwich" we ate there twice in the five days we were there (we did not do the DDP) the price was good and sandwiches and soups were really good!

I have also read people say that when on the DDxP that you should fit in a few cs meals and not try and do all sit down meals it gets to be a bit much...just passing it along...
we are thinking of doing the DDxP next year and doing a sit down for breakfast and dinner w/cs for lunch...

have a great day!:wave2:

OK...here are my suggestions...see what you think!

Dec. 6 - If you will be at DTD...what about Wolfgang Puck Cafe??? It's soooo good! Or, if you are going to be at HS...what about Mama Melrose's??? Again, really good.

Dec. 7 - What about any of the meals in the castle?? Madilynn would probably love it! It's two credits, but you seem to have enough.

Dec. 10 - I would only do H & V as a breakfast...not that great as lunch or dinner IMO. Or, Cape May Cafe at Beach Club is good for breakfast buffet and close to HS. THen, you could do 50's Cafe for dinner or leave early and do Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner before the party starts. Their dinner is soooo good! Just like Thanksgiving dinner! Of course, if you don't like T-giving dinner, then you won't like this!

I think you have just the medicine I need! A swift slap is indeed in order!

I think I am going to use CS as my backup for meals I don't get.

We're doing Cinderella's Gala Feast at the Grand Floridain. 50's Cafe isn't really "our" thing (I liked it a lot, but there is no I in team!).

So is it a general consensus to stick with Teppan Edo?

We all know about the 100 Day Dance...

And of course the Double Digit Dance...

But can I get a

:cool1::cool1::cool1:$500 DANCE!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

That's all that's left and the trip is PAID OFF!!!!!!!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

YOU GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish we were that close! I guess we better be soon! (Since the first half of our trip has to be paid in full by mid-October!!!)

Hooray for having not a lot left to pay off!!:cool1::cool1:

ADRs can be so complicated!

I love Teppan Edo. By far one of my favorite meals each trip. If you don't like hibachi style japanese food, you wont like it though. I love Le Cellier also! I've also been hearing increasing positive things about Garden Grill.

Picnic in the park- is just ok. The portions are too small, in my opinion. But, I love the reusable bag it comes in that you get to keep! It's like a free souvenir..although it isn't really free!

I agree about maybe doing Cape May at the beach club..or on your first day, why not hit the boardwalk and get some counter service there..or Beaches and Cream! Then head to HS!

Thanks for dancing with me Longing2B!

Half by mid??? I was told we need to have our trip paid off by Oct 22... :confused3

I think we may skip the Picnic and do a CS... maybe...

I may wait til the last day to try to fit in a visit to the Boardwalk, DTD is on a higher pedestal :rotfl:

Any one know where I can find hours of service for the restaurants? I am trying to have a rough sketch of the times we'd like to eat and I can't seem to find general hours of service... TIA!

Our AKV stay is room-only stay so that doesn't HAVE to be paid off until the day we check in. I would like to pay it off before then and it is almost there now, but I can wait if I choose to.

allears.net lists the hours for most of the restaurants at the top of the menus

That is twice this week I have resorted to calling you a lucky dog - YOU LUCKY DOG!!!

I don't have time to read all your posts but I am subscribing. We will have a lot in common. We will be there Dec 8-13 so about the same time. Another thing we have in common is that my DD Bday is also Sept 6. Just 13 (14?) years earlier. My DD will be 16.

Have fun planning and I hope to check in again soon.

How nice to have a child-less trip to The World!!! Where are you staying? Happy birthday to your DD tomorrow (14 years).

The decorations are hung, the mylar balloons have been inflated... and my poor, poor baby is cutting all four molars and has a raw bum and a sour attitude... :guilty:

Wish us luck for a HAPPY birthday!

sorry about the Birthday drama, that would just rot my socks, but you handled it well.
Poor baby to be cutting 4 teeth at one time, poor mommy too.

I'm in :goodvibes I work in childcare too and love it (daycare) I'll probably do it from home when we have kids :) Your plans sound great and I love the invitations for your DD's birthday party, how cute!
We're actually visiting Cape Cod (Hyannis) this year when we stay in Boston before we fly down to Orlando. I can't wait to go whale watching :goodvibes
