I Saw Mommy Kissing Goofy Claus - Dec '09 - DAY ONE, FINALLY (2/20) - PG# 40

Have a wonderful weekend, and make that money honey!!! Charity, charity...just remember that :) Take lots of pictures of Madi on Halloween. I have candy, but we only get like 5 trick-or-treaters. Not a lot of kids in our community, although I swear this year there are more. I think a few families with kids moved in over the summer. LOL I love when they come to the door because I can give each of them a fist full of candy.

Anyway can't wait to hear the update and see the t-shirts. And if all else fails teach Madi to ask Daddy to wear the t-shirt. I'm not sure how anyone can resist that face!!!

Hey Nic - how'd you make out with Trick-or-Treaters? Are you eating the goodies that no one came a knockin for?! This weekend truly drained me. I promise  to be back shortly with good updates, pics and plans!

Have a great weekend! Take trick or treat pix!!

Thank you & I did!

Have a great but safe weekend, can't wait to see your Disney purchases.

Weekend was CRAZY, but enjoyable! A great family filled weekend! Details soon!

All of your plans are looking wonderful. Lots of great ADRs! It should be a wonderful trip. A few years ago I went on a family trip to Disney when my nieces's were only 2 and 5. It was wonderful to experience it through their eyes. My younger niece loved Haunted Mansion oddly enough. We were all afraid it would scare her, so we kept telling her before hand that everything was just make believe. When we got off we asked her how she liked it and she told us it needed more ghosts. :rotfl: I'm going to miss them on my trip this year.

I love too that your packing already. I think that means that I'm allowed to start too, since I'll be leaving a day ahead of you. :lmao:

I am jealous that you have your ME tags, I will be on :cloud9: when I see them in my own hand!!!

Hoping your overnight went well! Have a Happy Halloween and tell Madi I said Happy Halloween to her too!! ;)

Guess what??!! I only have 33 more days!!!! That is less than 5 weeks!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Tomorrow is day 33 for us! Madi thanks you for the Halloween wishes! ;)

HAVE A GOOD HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!

My trick or treat at home in PA was yesterday. All around here in Ohio it is on Saturday so it's crazy how each area is different!!

Can't wait to see the shirts :)

They used to do that in Nebraska, if there was a high school football game on Halloween, then Halloween would be pushed forward or back to accommodate the game... :sad2: - Halloween is October 31, sorry!

BOO to you, BOO to you! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend honey

The weekend was  (minus the dancing... well maybe some dancing!)

happy halloween- hope it was a fun one!

i know, the big toy story mania party on 12/12- i had booked sci fi for 7:25, but then realized the party starts at 9pm and they want us at the front gate to be escorted back since it is a private function and not sure that will happen. i haven't had much luck getting it pushed back- i managed to book online two separate ressies for 7:10 vs 7:25 and figure we will just show up earlier and see what can be done. and now they bumped the party back to 9:30, so that helps too.

really MK is just a short monorail ride away though if you do Ohana, it shouldn't be too bad- just show up at 4:30 there and see if you can get in any earlier???? that is my plan.:thumbsup2

ADR's are the worst, and the best and highly reccomended if not required... They send my head spinning!:confused3

I always second-guess my ADR decisions. So I understand completely.

Ughhhhh... :goodvibes

PHEW! All caught up on my own PTR! This weekend was crazy, somewhat of a blur, and down-right tiring! I'll give you a little run down of goodies to come, as I am a bit tired now and will be turning in shortly...

1. I still need to post pumpkin carving pics (is it too late, should I skip this..?)
2. Halloween, Trick-Or-Treating, Dress-Up
3. Picking out our Christmas Tree!!! (Went and "tagged" it Sunday)
4. Pictures of lots of new goodies being added to the suitcase, and the home :thumbsup2
5. My numerous To-Do/Buy/Plan lists
6. Sharing some upcoming none Disney distractions (we all love these!!!)
7. And, of course, Park/Day plans for our trip!

Geez - these 7 tasks may just get me to December! :goodvibes

Thanks for sticking around, I feel like I've been gone forever! I missed my DIS-fam-dam-ly!

 All Around!

7. Yeah...we haven't seen much of what you are doing...let's go lady!

Glad you had a good weekend!

18 Pics uploaded to Photobucket and waiting for naptime tomorrow!!!:thumbsup2

These do not include the photos of new things, old things and goodies that have been purchased... but we'll knock a few off the list tomorrow!

I am SUPER jealous... your ticker only says days!!! No months... just days! You lucky, lucky dog!!! :cool1:

I KNOW!!!!!

That was one of the most awesome things I've seen in a long time! The only thing is, it is wrong...we are at 29 days today, not 28. But, I don't want it to start all over so I am going to just leave it. I know I put the date in right, but I gues it miscalculated.

Hey Jen!!!

I say post all the pics, all the plans, and all the distractions!!! LOL I have to have something to do while I'm at work!! I'm sort of interested in this Christmas tree tagging thing!! Do you go to a farm and pick one out!?! We don't have any place like that around here but we do go to this one place that has the most beautiful trees. And I already told Greg that we will be going for our tree the day after we get home (Sunday) so I can decorate it with all my new ornaments. I plan to take down all my Thanksgiving stuff that day after and put up my Christmas stuff so it will be all done when I get home. I always decorate the day after Thanksgiving. I like top enjoy my Christmas stuff at least for a little while. PS- I love that you get a real tree. I think that there should be a country wide ban on fake trees. THEY ALWAYS LOOK FAKE!!!

We had ONE trick-or-treater!! LOL but she was dressed at Tink and I unloaded almost all our candy on this little girl. I was glad it was a kid though, I don't think I would have been as happy or generous if is was someone older. She was so cute, probably no more than 3 or 4. Anyway, after that we left for a party, but I really don't think there was many in our little community.

YAY! Wanna see pics. :goodvibes

I'm heading over to my PTR to do the same. I'll get there.

I'm definitely not going to the DIS party on the 12th. I'll be at Magic & Merriment, so I'll probably see you. D23 is not allowing (at this point), people to switch over from one party to another. I don't know why people would, but that's just me. I'm not sure whether I would be comfortable taking ticket to both events, when others may have wanted to go to one of these events. I think the NFFC will also be there for a party. Besides, my head might implode with all the coolness of M&M, that I couldn't imagine wanting more. :santa:

sounds like you have a ton to keep you busy!!!

I'm trying to hold off on my lists to that I have more to look forward too. With work, work classes, and trying to get my certification passed I think with just all that I'll be busy till Thanksgiving and then will have 2 weeks after that for LISTS LISTS LISTS!!

I'll be back to reply to your posts, I have just waited over an hour for Photobucket to get it's act together... now that is has I only have 30 minutes left in naptime, so away I go with the fun stuff!!!

Pumpkin Painting and Pumpkin Carving!
When we last left off in my "outside of Disney PTR, real life mini-PTR's" We had taken Madi to the pumpkin patch and enjoyed the local harvest fair. The week following that crazy weekend Madi's "BFF's" came over and we painted pumpkins:

Madi Painting away :goodvibes
(I'm not posting pictures of the BFF's cause I am over protective about where I put Madi's picture and I don't want to publicize anyone elses children.)

I then set them out on the porch to dry and I went off to do my over night. The next day... it rained... Leaving us with:

THIS...
IMG_1680.jpg

The kids didn't mind too much, it meant we got to do it again! Next year they dry in the bathroom on newspaper

-------------------------------------------------------

The day we (Madi & I) came back from the overnight shift we carved our pumpkins with DaDa!

Here's Madi scooping out the insides, which she was NOT fond of!:
IMG_1682.jpg

I asked her what kind of face she wanted on her pumpkin and she made a little "o" mouth and scrunched down her eyebrows. I asked if she wanted a surprised pumpkin face and she said yes. Given the size of this little pumpkin and the not so small size of my knife, I went traditional and she didn't mind!

She loved it!
IMG_1686.jpg

So much that she wanted it to be her face!
IMG_1688.jpg

Here's Madi & Dada's finished products!
IMG_1690.jpg

All-in-all we had a fun time painting our little pumpkins and carving the bigger ones. Madi was a good sport and enjoyed watching the faces appear as we cut away at the pumpkins!

-------------------------------------------------------

Dress-Up & Trick-or-Treating!!!

On Halloween, after nap I let Madi play dress up with her various costumes...

Here she is as Snow White:
IMG_1710.jpg

A jolly, laughing her head off, Dumbo!:
IMG_1719.jpg

And of course, My Nemo! Here she is on Main Street:
IMG_1725.jpg

Helping Dad push the stroller (I added this pic, cause I have FINALLY [maybe... :sad2:] decided that this stroller is the one to take, more on that later):
IMG_1735.jpg

As you can see, the hood/head didn't last very long! Here she is checking out her loot!:
IMG_1736.jpg

We started our evening doing the "Main Street Safe Trick-or-Treat" which ended up being a JOKE! There were shoulder to shoulder people, teens not dressed in costumes pushing/trampling little kids, and words I don't want my child to hear! Also, the kids I nanny in Eastham came along. The boy had strep throat and couldn't go out, so we took the two girls. We only did maybe half the street, but the girls were happy, which made me happy. One was getting chilly and the other had princess shoes that were too big and hurting to walk in, so I was glad we called it when we did!
Up next we headed to my friends house. She lives in a great neighborhood, set up much like city blocks, but with houses instead of skyscrapers! You can easily do 6 streets and have a full bucket, which is exactly what we did! Madi rode in the stroller a little bit, ran a little bit and rolled in the grass a lot (poor apartment kid needs a yard! :sad2:). She was so cute to watch. She would go up to the door and knock, or go with the group of kids, and then she would try to get inside! :rotfl2: She didn't quite get the concept that we're going to each house to get candy and then going to the next to do the same thing. She wanted to go inside and see what these people had to play with, what was on TV, etc! So, it was fun keeping her from going off exploring! The next dilemma was getting her to just take one! When someone would kneel down to offer out the bowl, she wanted to take as many could fit in her little hand! Aww, my monster-beast! I love her! So, then we get to one of last houses and I am getting ready to walk her up the driveway and she pushes my legs and says "All self! All self!" This is her way of saying "do it by myself" - so, I let her take a stab at it and quickly intervene as she again attempts to take a peek inside and take all the candy!
All-in-all she really enjoyed herself and was a good sport! She got lots of compliments on her costume (and slippers!). Another successful Halloween for the scrapbook... if I ever get back to it!

Oh ya, and she got spooky vampire teeth from her Nana & Papa and wants to scare you all! Don't say I didn't warn you....

Again, naptime is just about over so I will be back to post Christmas Tree Farm report and pics soon!

And I haven't yet taken pics of the goodies yet, so that will be done tomorrow... or Thursday, you know how I am!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ours will be like that soon. :goodvibes

SOOOO soon! Friday for me! :cool1:

I don't blame you for not switching it! I love seeing our close to the end the ticker is!!!

I plan to take down all my Thanksgiving stuff that day after and put up my Christmas stuff so it will be all done when I get home. I always decorate the day after Thanksgiving. I like top enjoy my Christmas stuff at least for a little while. I am having a hard time not putting them up NOW! PS- I love that you get a real tree. I think that there should be a country wide ban on fake trees. THEY ALWAYS LOOK FAKE!!! We've got a really good fake in the closet, but I like the idea of picking your own farm fresh tree!!!

We had ONE trick-or-treater!! LOL but she was dressed at Tink and I unloaded almost all our candy on this little girl. I was glad it was a kid though, I don't think I would have been as happy or generous if is was someone older. She was so cute, probably no more than 3 or 4. Nic, there is so much in your post that I want to reply about, but I will just be repeating myself to the group when I post the Tree Farm pics, bear with me love! So read my size 3, red comments above :)

I can not believe your lack of T-or-T'ers! Love that Tink came though!

YAY! Wanna see pics. :goodvibes

We are leaving the 11th :sad2: I am still UBER jealous you get to see Cindy's Suite!!!

sounds like you have a ton to keep you busy!!!

This is me now... :sad2: :sad1:

I just called my AAA office to notify them of a flight number change and my guy is no longer with the company! :scared1: What the WHAT?!!?!?! :guilty:

I have spent the last 6 months forming a relationship with this guy and he leaves, doesn't even pick up the phone to tell me he is handing my trip over to someone else! Now I am in panic mode! Is there a way I can go to AAA and tell them I want Disney to have my address and send me my Mickey mail to my house?!

I've got 33 days to calm down... but right now, I am freaking out! My trip through AAA has no AAA discount as I went with the free dining pin instead. Any one know if I can claim my own trip back? Does that make sense? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh  <insert vomit on the floor>

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so I forwarded the flight info to "Barb" as directed and got this in return:

"Hi,

All set!

Mickey said he will see you then!
J

Barbara"

To which I replied:

"Hi Barbara,

I have to be honest, I am a little uneasy that John is gone. I feel like he has helped me through so much to get to where we are now with this trip and I am a bit disappointed that he is gone, without even a courtesy call. I am more than confident that you will help us get through the last leg of this trip, but I feel like there was a relationship formed with my family and John. I thank you kindly for correcting the flight information and do look forward to working with you on the final steps.

Thanks again,
Jennifer"

Ohhhhhhh why?!?!?!??!?

---------------------------------------------------------------

So I am stewing over this AAA drama, and I open the curtains to see a drug deal going on in our parking lot!!! WE ARE MOVING!!!

Then the dentist calls to tell me my appointment has been rescheduled for next week... UGH ANYTHING ELSE?!?!

Madi looked too cute in her costume!!!! And, you are so brave...with the paint! :scared1:

AAA dilema...breathe, breathe, breathe...it is all going to be ok! I am sure it will all work out for you. Just make sure you call Disney about 10 days before going and reconfirm everything with them.

The drug deal...yeah...I hear ya...two shootings right up the road from our house within the past 4 days and as I am sitting hear listening to the news an armed robbery tonight about 5 miles from the house. Last night's shooting was a kid on his scooter that someone rode past and shot from their car. The Halloween shooting was at a party and they shot 4 people. Both were only 2-3 miles from our house in the neighboring development. The armed robbery was a couple of teenagers on another teen. They held a knife to him. Welcome to the Poconos! Needless to say...kids aren't allowed outside!
Also, last year or the year before there were two NYPD shot by a couple of guys. They fled and ended up in the Poconos. (Nic may remember this) I think only the one officer died. Anyway, when they got them they were in a gully within walking distance to our house! I was doing dishes and looked out the window. There was an officer in a police car in our driveway. I sent Justin out to see what was going on. The cop got out with an assault rifle and politely told Justin to get back inside. NICE! Wanna come visit?
Sorry for the hijack and rant...just thought I'd add! But, as bad as all that sounds...there are drugs and violence wherever you go. You just have to hope you can stay out of harms way.

AWWWWW Madi is so darm cute!!! I love all the pictures, and the slippers cracked me up!!! And the pumpkins looked great!! I love the story of her trying to get into peoples houses and steal their candy. If it were me I would have let her take it all. Who can resist that little face!?!?! And I love the story of her rolling in the grass. Maybe a yard is in your near future. I'll have to consult the Magic 8 Ball for you!!!

Our loan trick or treater reminded me of Madi, Jen I swear they could be cousins. She had curly hair just like Madi and her mom had her hair in little pig-tails like you have Madi's sometime. LOL maybe that's why I unloaded so much candy on this little thing. She was cute and I was glad I had a little kid, and a Disney kid at that, to give out candy to.

Sometimes I feel no matter where you live there are going to be crazy things that are a little disturbing. Greg and I grew up in the same hometown and his parents neighbor robbed the gas station at knife point for a 6 PACK OF BEER!!!! Stupid kid! And I have never seen so many cop cars as I do in our community. We're in a gated area but the cops are always there, honestly I think they are mostly domestic disturbances. Nice right!?!? LOL our down stairs neighbors SCREAM at each other at like 3AM. Now I don't feel so self conscience if Greg and I have an argument. (LOL I'm a yeller, just makes me feel better to yell sometimes.) And I think that our old upstairs neighbor was a dealer. No kidding, I know he didn't have a job because he was home during the day and he would leave at strange hours of the night. Sorry to highjack, but I sadly feel like it's just the times and not so much the neighborhood.

And don't worry about AAA, it will all work out!! I promise!! :)

Madi looked super-duper cute! The pink vampire teeth was cuteness! I can't decide which costume I like best. Snow White princess: was adorable, but then again so was a Jolly Dumbo. :goodvibes

I'm sorry about the parking lot; I would definitely see about moving. Is it viable for you?

Ouchie for the dentist! Is this the one you like or don't like?

** breathe in, breathe out **

Sorry abour the carpy day. Hope it gets better.

Madi looked adorable in her costume!

Today has been a better day :) Thanks!

My friend, Alison, "the BFF's" mom, won't let the kids have paint at home - they come here to do crafts! :lmao: But I don't mind, it's all washable and we have fun!

Don't worry about hijacking. Your tidbit was helpful! It helps bring me back to reality that, sorry Jen, this CRAP is everywhere! (Pretty scary about the cop in the driveway!)

Ugh... that AAA... I am dealing with it better today! The lady said to call back on the 20th for see if my "mail" is in... so now another countdown! 16 days til I check on "my mail."

Shamus reminded (gave me a slap of reality!) me that this is NOT the time to start thinking about a move... We've got Disney on the 6th of Dec, we'll come back and have Christmas, then it'll be New Years. If anytime soon, we're looking at springtime. But I thank you (and Erin) for the reality check that this is the world we live in, location doesn't matter. We live in a 3 story condo with video monitors at the door, high-tech security. But drug deals in the parking lot... I probably wouldn't be so neurotic/worried, but we're on the first floor. If stray bullets from a deal gone bad are going to stray, chances are it will be a first floor apartment... but stray bullets can happen anywhere... ::breathing::

** breathe in, breathe out **

That Jolly Dumbo shot was PRICELESS!!!

I am growing confident that Barbara at AAA will help me through this... even if she is short in her responses... :sad2:

Moving is foreseeable in the springtime...

The dentist is the new one, the one I like (or liked until he canceled on me... :sad2:)

Today, I am breathing :goodvibes
