I said Ohana, not Obama!!!! - A BFF's do NYE TR **UPDATE 11/4 Pg. 38**

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh... have I not actually commented on this TR?!?! AAGGGGHHHHH!!! I'm SOOOO sorry, Danielle (Queen of the Absolutely ESGAFSVSAGAV Hilarious TRs). But at least I have something to utilize my generally non-Disney freetime with- CATCHING UP ON AWESOME TRS!!!!! So to start off my first comment on this TR, LOVE the fact Yeti is back and is... talking! Boy, has he inherited a lot of traits from his mom ;) And the mischief he gets into... I'm scared how this TR is going to progress. I should leave now... NAHHH!!! And that's so funny how that Ostrich got so close to your vehicle. Maybe it's the same Ostrich from my last trip, he was practically leaning into our little vehicle. I have a picture but I'm too lazy to go find it :/ Well, since it is quite late I'll stop commenting now. I promise my mega-comments will arrive once you update again. Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Aw, Timmy it's okay! I've been so far behind myself, so you're excused. For sure.

The Yeti has definitely inherited some of my traits. I figured he would want to exercise his voice this time around. Hahaha.

It could be the same ostrich! It was really really funny.

Yay, a BFF TR! I love all kinds of TRs, but I read a ton of family or couple ones. I think the BFF ones are a whole different kind of fun! Bookmarking to hopefully catch up soon!

They are definitely a whole different kind of fun. I've done kind of all of them so far. Family, siblings, BFF. Now I just need a complete solo one.

Back now I am here to catch up!

I love your hypothetical conversation with the Disney Police

Great view! I love sea turtles!

That lobster ravioli looks amahzing! Actually both look really good! I am also a huge seafood fan and any type of fish looks good

Oh my Walt! That guy in your Test Track picture is hilarious!

The Yeti looks so cute pole dancing! I actually wondered on this past trip whether people have gotten drunk around the World at Epcot and tried pole dancing on them :confused3

I hate hypothetical conversations all the time. LOL. Okay, now I just sound crazy. Hahaha.

The lobster ravioli was definitely good, but I definitely think the mahi mahi was way better.

That guy was crazy! I had no idea he was being so crazy until later.

Yay, I'm all caught up on your TR now. Of course I have a few comments.

I love this picture http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW New Years 2012/25544c47.jpg I feel like I've never seen EE from that exact angle! Awesome job :)

"This started a theme for the rest of the trip. "Is anything going to come out and sting me or something?"" HAHAHA I love it! You just never know at Disney.

I can't tell you how badly I want to go to WDW on NYE! It looks like such a blast. That pic of you with the glow cube cracked me up, omg.

The Yeti updates are just too cute... him in Pumbaa's mouth! so funny!

I'm glad you had a good experience at Coral Reef... I've always heard mixed things but it just looks so cool in there!

Farrell was too funny. She was paranoid the rest of the trip about whether or not something was going to come out and get her. LOL.

NYE is a blast at WDW. As for the glow cube.....well that kind of thing can happen when I get some libations in me. :rolleyes1 Let's just say it's not the first time.

We had lots of fun just trying to figure out where we can put the Yeti.

I was glad we went back. My only other experience there wasn't great, so I was happy that this time around it was really good.

Just wanted to leave some well-wishes for your mom on this TR too! :goodvibes Hope she's feeling better soon!

Thanks!

I hope your Mom is feeling much better soon.

I'm personally glad you've not updated for selfish reasons. I am way behind on everyone's TR's again thanks to our youngest son who decided three weeks to propose to his girlfriend and he proposed Friday night. We are ecstatic, but things have been hectic.

It gets tough, doesn't it? Life gets in the way and then it's hard to keep up with things.

YAY! You're back from the dead... somewhat lol I hope your mom is feeling better. I'll be eagerly awaiting the day for you to join us again! I'll be off to Quebec if you need me ;)

Somewhat back. Haha. I'm hoping to be back for good now.

Aw, I'm sorry about your mom! Hope she's doing alright now.

She's doing much better now, thankfully.

I'm sticking around! Sorry to hear about your mom, best wishes to her for a speedy recovery!

Thanks! She's doing much better now.

So sorry to hear about your mom! I understand on the difficulty staying caught up and updating!

It's been tough, but we should be better now going forward.

Joining in on this TR too! :wave2:

Thanks! Hope you enjoy.

I hope your mom has a speedy recovery!

We will be here when things settle down for you

Aw, thanks Caitlin.

I posted this on my other TR as well, so if you're reading both, sorry if it's a little redundant.

I'm back after my long absence and I will make a point to get caught up on everyone's TRs. Time has gotten by so quickly.

My mom is doing well. Basically, the story is that she fell down the stairs in the house and fractured her leg. She was in a brace for about 7 weeks, and has only recently been allowed to take it off permanently. She had a hard time for a while, because she's so independent. She didn't like people having to do stuff for her, but it was necessary. So, she's on the mend and has about two weeks of physical therapy left.

I will be starting a new PTR soon, so stay tuned for that. It's not a traditional one, because we're going to Europe for two weeks, but I would love it if you guys came along. We're going to Disneyland Paris for two nights and three days, so if you're interested in hearing about that, feel free to come along!

Let's get crack-a-lackin!!!!

Day 2 - Sunday January 1, 2012

Okay. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away......we left Epcot. I know. Seems like FOREVER!!!

We had headed back to the hotel to take a snooze before heading out to EMH at the Magic Kingdom. The snooze was a great choice. Gave us the wind we needed (beneath our wings! Ba dum bum).

We got freshened up and were heading out the door at about 8:20ish. We headed up to the beautiful monorail.

Let's all sing the Simpson's monorail song!!!!

Mono......d'oh!!!!

4a5d20ef.jpg

Such a lovely sight it is.

Well, let's just say I had a mission. Time was ticking, because Wishes was going to start. And under no circumstances did I want Farrell to catch any glimpses of it. Why? Because we had a dessert party later in the week. I wanted her to experience it then, not early. Well, we're walking down Main Street (USA. It's the heart of America, the heartbeat of a holiday.....Sorry, couldn't help it).

Then, it goes dark. Farrell's like "whoa!". I'm like "d'oh!"

But we were saved! Because it was the Magic Memories and You show. So I told her:

"Avert your eyes. Do not look at the castle....do not pass go....do not collect $200!!!!!"

Obvs, people were looking at me like I was crazy. Whatever. It's all for the sake of magic preservation.

I basically SHOVED Farrell into Cosmic Rays. I told her that I didn't want her to see anything that I was saving for later. Fortunately, she understood. She didn't appreciate the bruise I gave her by shoving her into the restaurant, but eh? What can you do?

We were very hungry, and fortunately, it was not crowded at all.

I ordered...

ef24d4f6.jpg

Yummy! I didn't get a picture, but Farrell got the ribs platter. As always, the food was tasty and filling.

After that, we decided to putz around Tomorrowland for a little while. Farrell bought two BFF bracelets. We're cheesy, but whatever!

I also tried on some hats.

fb4ce6cb.jpg

The angle wasn't the greatest. Chalk it up to the 9 inch height difference between Farrell and myself.

After that, because our tum tums were still full, we headed to the absolute greatest ride in Tomorrowland.

e0e5ad8d.jpg

Word up people!!!!

Farrell had fond memories of it from Disneyland, and sadly they don't have it there anymore. I call it the Rocket Rod debacle. Look it up sometime if you're not familiar. They removed the Peoplemover to install this thing called Rocket Rods, right? Well, they.......were.......lame.......I can attest to that, I rode them. And now all that remains is the sad empty track. It's sad. Very sad. Okay, I digress.

Remember, under no circumstances are you allowed to dance on the ride!

c72d9e9f.jpg

Obligatory Peoplemover feet picture!

c559618e.jpg

So pretty at night.

51075b36.jpg

I also have to admit that I'm a huge dork, and when we were going through some of the dark portions, I said: "Space.....the final frontier.....these are the voyages of the Starship Peoplemover".....which led Farrell to chime in "it's mission.....to find new characters and new Mickey civilations....to boldly go where no BFFs have gone before".

Remember, when you read that, you have to sound like Patrick Stewart. *sigh* Now do you understand why we're BFFs?

After that.....well, okay. We're in Tomorrowland. Where else would I go?

4eb9ebdd.jpg

Duh.

Well, I will say that our joystick was wonky. I still scored okay, but it was wonky that's for sure. I had to like slam it to one side just to get it to move.

We had fun though.

ca8367ea.jpg

We wandered around for a little while after that. I just wanted Farrell to take it all in. She saw Winnie the Pooh and wanted to ride. Only a wait time of 10 minutes too! We both agreed that there is nothing too childish for us in WDW. Gotta love a first timer with the same belief system!

Hooray!

87837a35.jpg

Our next stop was my favorite.

c15a5c06.jpg

Which led Farrell to ask again "is anything going to pinch, bite, or rub up against me?"

I told her she was safe. That ITTBAB was a unique experience. I remembered Captain EO though, but figured we wouldn't be heading there, so I didn't bring it up.

She loved it! Of course, it's my favorite for sure.

cc544067.jpg

Where's my hat?!

ebf34dbe.jpg

After this, we slowly wandered out of the park and took some pictures.

This was my favorite dress in Cinderella. I didn't love her blue dress. I loved the mouse dress!!! Farrell agreed.

Make it pink!

Purty...

Le sigh...

After that, we headed out of the park and made it to our hotel by 1am. We had an early start to the day, because we were heading to DHS, and you know what that means....TSM mad dash!!!!!

So, the girls took me to the Magic Kingdom. I promised that I would behave. But I have a complaint.

6095d3e1.jpg

This thing is called a peoplemover. Clearly, it is not only a peoplemover. Why? Because I'm on it. And I......am.......a......YETI!

d2bcf13a.jpg

So, Disney has a few choices. Call it an everything-mover.....or a Yeti-mover. Because let's be realistic people. We all have a little Yeti inside us.

Danielle actually let me shoot on Buzz Lightyear. Can you see me, can you see me, can you see me?

6f38b2ed.jpg

Yup. Got a great score too if I do say so myself.

We had to make a potty stop. This is the problem with being 2 inches tall. You have to go somewhere with someone ALL THE TIME! But I'm nice, and I give people their privacy.

7794fbd3.jpg

I got some glow in the dark time on Winnie the Pooh. And Danielle had the nerve to say that I was a little dirty. Um, not here I'm not!

58313c0d.jpg

I also attempted to pull the sword from the stone.

96498cf3.jpg

I swear I did....but when the Disney police saw that I did it, they came over and confiscated all evidence of it. You know, gotta keep up appearances. That's why there's no picture. :rolleyes1

Photobomb!!!!

b0c79998.jpg

And, rather than last night, I actually got put into bed! Moving up in the world. Making me sleep on the dresser the night before. Pssshhh.

Yay for updates!!
Gotta love Magic Kingdom! I totally understand the "don't look at wishes!" thing, I would much rather actually sit down & have something special to watch the whole thing rather than catching a glimpse of it while walking through the park.

I agree! I hate catching it for only a portion of the show. I wanted her first time seeing the show to be special and not diluted by anything.

We always laugh about the "no funky dancing" signs on the rides. Keep it all inside, people!!

I'll admit, I laughed out loud at the Yeti being very respectful of privacy in the bathroom stall. He's very polite!

Love your pics of the castle dream lights!

You're such a good friend to make sure Farrell gets the full on Wishes Dessert Party experience. I always think about stuff like that since I have friends who have never been to WDW, if I brought them with me how I'd try to "show" them Disney. It must be fun to see it from a newbie's point of view!

They don't have a Peoplemover at Disneyland anymore? OMG. That's a shame. If they ever remove it from WDW I will riot in the streets. Changing the spiel was enough to drive me mad, but it disappearing altogether...forget it! :sad1:

I actually have a picture of the Yeti facing me in the stall.....and I thought it was hilarious, so I had to turn him around for posterity.

I had planned that from the start of the trip. You'll find out later, I'm so glad that I did too. It was really a great idea. You're not all surrounded by people, so I think it just makes it more comfortable.

They.....do.....not.....have.....it!!!! Anymore in Disneyland. For quite a few years actually. It's a travesty for sure. I just don't understand. And now the sad part is that the track is just there. Doing absolutely nothing.

ahhhhh! sweet dreams Yeti!

Great update(s). Glad you are back and posting! Your Yeti posts really crack me up.

Dinner looks yummy!

fun Winnie the Pooh pictures! :thumbsup2

I forgot how good that food at the Wave looked!

I'm glad Farrell "gets it." I can also sympathize with her about ITTBAB. I can't do it. I scream like a child. But I love Muppets and Philharmagic! (I also hated Honey I Shrunk the Audience. Hated. SNAKES!)

I'm glad to be back and posting too. It felt like so long!

The ITTBAB debate cracks me up. I always say try it once, and then make your decision about why you don't enjoy it. But, no warnings under any circumstances! Some people were like, "you should have warned her!" I say no to that. I had no idea the first time I went on it, so that's how I roll.

I always hated Honey I Shrunk the Audience too!

Glad your mom is doing better! Goodness, I have no idea why I'm not on your other TR? I'm dumb... but I will make a point to join in and catch up because this TR cracks me up! AND HOW EXCITING that you're going to Europe and DLP!!!! That is amazing, I'll definitely be along for that one. Anyways...

HAHAHA! I hope you were able to preserve the magic for the dessert party.

Omg... that's the most depressing story ever. They had a PeopleMover at Disneyland and they... REMOVED IT? What the...?

HOORAY FOR DONALD DUCK! I agree too, I was in love with the dress that the mice and birds made! I felt so sorry for them when the sisters destroyed it. I'm like yall, do you know how hard it is for a mouse to sew a dress? Obviously not. Goodness. And plus, PINK.

Oh I'm so excited to hear the Mad Dash Story, especially with a first timer!

Yeti! I'm so proud of you for pulling the sword out of the stone. I always knew you could do it.

I'm excited to hear about when you all do see Wishes! It's always magical, but even better with someone who's never seen it before.

It's nice to have two nights planned at the MK, since the lines are always so short during Wishes. We like to have one night for riding as much as we can and another night to get a good spot and really watch the fireworks.

I'm super excited about our upcoming trip. We just got our reservations figured out through DVC for the first two nights, so now I can actually write about it. Haha. Still waiting on flights though. That's nerve wracking!

It is depressing, isn't it? That they removed the Peoplemover. It's just sad.

You're so right! Those mice toiled forever to make that dress. With their tiny little hands. Only to have it ripped to shreds. Disgusting.

I can't wait to get to that story either! It's a good one for sure.

You're right, I do love to be there doing other things during Wishes, because everyone else is waiting to watch the show.

Haha glad you managed to push Farrell into Cosmic Ray's before she could see Wishes!
We once had a wonky joystick on Buzz too. DH kept saying "turn us! turn us!" and i couldn't! He kicked my bottom anyway. I love that ride but I'm quite bad at it.
Yeti is too cute, being all respectful in the bathroom.

Photobomb!!!!

Love that! He looks like a big bad menacing yeti!

I hate getting wonky joysticks on Buzz! It's not the first time it's happened to me either. I get all serious about it too, because I get very serious about my score.
