Im sooooo excited!!! I redid my adr"s and changed a couple plans .For the first five days I will be on the Dining Plan ! First time and Im excited to try these sit downs!!

Arrival day - I originally had Chef Mickeys but because its a buffet and Im a single mom with two kids...I switched it to Liberty Tree Tavern! Cant wait to try that oohey gooey toffee cake!! :cloud9:
MK day - Ohana Breakfast!Yummmmmyyyy I can taste it already
Epcot day- I originally had 1900 Park Fare but because its a buffet I switched it to Arkershus ...dont care for the food or menu but my dd will love being around the Princesses so that makes it worth it...and worst case scenario Im not far from the Nachos stand
AK day- Planet Hollywood ! Ive never been and it looks cool. I hope its bright and loud...like my kids  They should love it!
Hollywood Studios - Sci Fi Dine In !!! Looks cool...I want a delicious strawberry shake ....the entree with the biggest portion...and a sinful dessert! Something like a brownie sundae or anything ala mode :cloud9:

110 days to Disney :banana: Speaking of bananas...cant wait to try the chocolate covered frozen bananas :yay: ...Wish it was fudge covered but it'll do :rotfl:

The CM I had at Cape May Cafe was excellent. I also had two children at the buffet. I was seated at a table close to the buffet so I could leave them at the table and grab something if I needed to.

Did you book a breakfast ADR for Akershus? The breakfast food was good. I was too scared to book lunch or dinner-I'm a picky eater.

If you booked a breakfast at Akershus, part of your meal is brought to the table and the rest is a buffet.

I would LOVE to eat at Cape May Cafe! I had that down as my original Epcot adr but i felt overwhelmed because I do not know the layout of any of the buffets and taking trip after trip with the kiddos probaly wouldve run me ragged ! So do you think If I go to Cape May there's a good chance I can be seated near the buffet? Just the thought of all you can eat snow crab legs brings a tear to my eyes:cloud9:

How do I get from Epcot to the Beachclub... ??

You walk from EPCOT to BC. It's literally the first resort just outside the International Gateway from WS. :goodvibes I don't know much about Cape May, but you'll get a lot more info on the buffets and all over on the Restaurants board!:goodvibes:thumbsup2 Congrats on you upcoming trip! I hope it's a million times more magical than your last. :goodvibes

I think you are making a big mistake in changing your reservations. Your first choice would probably have been the right one. Think about changing back.

Love your ADRs! For dessert at Sci-Fi think about trying their chocolate peanut butter cake w/ vanilla ice cream- it's amazing!

I'm going to move this to our dining reservations board.

I have been to a few so I could give you a few hints/highlights...

Liberty Tree Tavern: Make sure you have a lunch reservation. Much more relaxed and a better selection than the dinner spread in my opinion. I think your kids will like it there. Laid back, so easier for a single mom with kids. They have a specialty drink that requires you to pay for the cup (glass, but they do ship it to your restaurant) that while is tasty, it is expensive. My kids went at 5 and 7 and it was nice. If you get a lunch around 2ish you should be done for the 3pm parade. Walk out the door and great seats.

Askerhaus breakfast: Great interaction with Princesses. Ask for a table near the buffet for better control with the little ones. The rest of the meal is family style so they will bring it to you. The potatoes are too die for. Don't forget to ask for seconds!

Sci-Fi: It is what I call a one time wonder. The food was mediocre for us, and very heavily salted. If anyone is sensitive, watch out. It is very dark inside, so just make sure the kids get to adjust their eyes so they can see to eat. Florida - very sunny, Sci-Fi - very dark.

Planet Hollywood: Very much like being in a TGIFs. Very stimulating and loud. The food is expensive, (not sure if you are doing DDP and if this is covered). I have to admit, I wasn't impressed, but it may have been an off day for me, tired and all.

Never been to Ohana for breakfast, but have read lots of good reviews, definetely may end of being the highlight eating experience for the kids.

Hope this helps. Diane.

i thought loud noises and lots of lighting changes and what not are bad for autistic kids?

I would not be afraid of buffets with children. I don't know your children but I had my niece (she's no trouble) and my neighbour's boy (all over the place).

I was watching him while they were at Universal's Halloween Night. I was a bit nervous going with just the two of them, but it was fine.

I basically told him that I was watching my niece and if he decided to take off, I wasn't leaving her to go find him so he better stick with me! We spent a few hours at Epcot before going to dinner. The year before he didn't like it when I told him to stop taking handfuls of dirt out of the flower beds and dumping it on the walkway. I told him if he didn't stop he would be sitting in his stroller. Well, guess what he did. Before I could get him in the stroller he took off running. I had to chase after him. So that's why I informed him I wouldn't be doing it again this year.

We took the boat, but it would have been much faster to walk.

Is Arkeshus better at lunch/dinner or Breakfast???Im still on the fence ! I can"t decide because I already have a TS breakfast down .Do they have caesar salad at the buffet in Arkeshus?

Well every autistic child is diffrent. My kids get excited when they are around anything exciting. They cover thier ears if they are overstimulated or have sensory issues but they've been ok for the most part with noise/lights.

It helped thanx alot! I think im going to do Arkeshus for Breakfast....and go to DTD for dinner at WPE and use the cs credits!Ill make sure the kiddos get plenty to eat at Breakfast and if they want a snack I can use a snack credit!Your reviews helped me alot! Back to the drawing board! :yay:

just a heads up i am not autistic and I wanted to cover my ears and hide while eating at planet hollywood. It is extremely loud and overbearing in there, it gave me the worst headache.

I would not waste time with Planet Hollywood. If you want a DTD restaurant that is cool for the kids, what about Rainforest Cafe. Their food is average but smaller kids love it. TRex is cool for kids, but heard their food isn't all that great.
I agree with cancelling Chef mickeys for LTTavern. Yes you will get to see the main characters at CM but honestly? The food is not worth the money. Akerhaus will be awesome for your daughter, we walked by and could see princesses through the beveled glass windows and I got excited and I'm an adult!
Cape May buffet is great, ask for a table near the buffet, explaining you have small kids, the buffet area isn't that huge but the food is very good.
You exit the Gateway exit at EPCOT and are there in like 5 minutes. Very short walk and great food
Have fun planning!

WOW Planet Hollywood is that loud?! I never been so I had no clue I figured it would be a tolerable noise level and I wouldnt want to eat with that much noise . Im really excited about booking Akershus !My dd is going to FLIP when she sees those princesses! I may cancel Planet Hollywood and do WolfGang Puck express....I LOVED ....LOVED....LOVED...WPE! I thought the food was delicious AND it was like a real meal! It felt like a table service but it was just a cs credit! BEST value and their portion sizes are ridiculous (which i LOVE) LOL....Im thinking I can go to Arkershus for Breakfast and Cape May Cafe for dinner in the same day......I will figure it all out by the end of this week! I want to plan everything full out...including the counter service meals. I want to try Colombia Harbor House in MK ! I may cancel CM for arrival night and just do CHH for dinner so ill have an extra TS meal on my MK day .

Are you planning on leaving AK and heading to DTD to Planet Hollywood? Or did you mean Rainforest Cafe at AK??? Just curious. There is no transportation to DTD from any of the parks, so it would mean having to take a bus, from AK, to a resort and then transferring to the DTD bus.
