I received a pin code and I have a few questions

We took our first trip to Disney last year the week after Thanksgiving. We've got plans to return next year for the same time. I just received a pin code for the free quick service dining plan so we're contemplating a 5-6 day trip in August but I've got a few questions for any experienced Dis'ers -

I need to book the deal by 4/30 so I'm just wondering if I book what is the latest I can cancel if our plans fall through? Is it 45 days before the trip?

Also, the last day of the deal is 8/14. Is it possible to book a trip with 8/14 as the first day of our trip and have the code applied to the trip even though the remaining days don't fall within the deadline?

Thank you!

For a cancellation more than 45 days before the trip, you will come out with all of your money. For a cancellation closer than 45 days but more than a week before your trip, you will pay a $100 fee. For cancellation less than 6 days before arrival you will pay a $200 fee.

Usually, yes, this is allowed - it is within their rights not to allow you to carry over the discount, but they always do allow it anyway.

Thank you!

If you have any inkling that you may want to do the trip, you should probably go ahead and book it. You can often change/adjust trip dates and other details later on and be allowed to keep your discount, even after April 30. There are many, many folks posting on various threads here that are bemoaning the fact that they did not go ahead and book a promo/discount when they had the chance, and are regretting it now.

You can cancel 45 days out and get back all of your deposit/payments with no penalities. I also would says if you are slightly interested book before the promo expires and then cancel if you need to.

I don't think you can get the cost of the insurance back no matter when you cancel. But if you don't get that, you would get all your money back by cancelling before 45 days. We get the insurance. Never had to use it yet (knock on wood) but are glad we have it just in case, especially cause we travel during hurricane season. Good luck.
