I received a pin, but not the one I'm waiting for!

I received the same PIN code as the OP in the mail yesterday. Ironically, I am also a November traveler. I wonder if they are trying to entice some of us Fall folks to go in the summer months :scratchin

FWIW, we booked our trip last November on a free dining pin code that I got, and we had park hopper tickets with our package. We always get hoppers. We've also sent away for DVC info this year, and sent away for the planning DVD last year.

We haven't gotten a pin in the past several years and I'm wondering if going almost ever year to 18 months has hurt us in getting them.

Those of you that have gotten them, other than ordering the DVD, what may have increased your chances in getting one? Did you have a trip already booked? Do you go to WDW regularly? Amy I just driving myself nuts in trying to figure out Disney's pin "formula" and should I just let go and live it up to the pin fairies? :confused3:)

I got the pin too and these are for my dates!! My mom is gonna run the numbers tomorrow (she's an aaa travel agent). I purchased park hoppers so the savings would be great!

For those looking for pins. It's been 4 years since last trip. I did call disney asked if I had any pins on my name and I did. (This current pin is on dh's name) I priced a trip then said I would call back I also ordered a DVD. So far I've gotten 2 pin codes. Hopefully that helps.. Good luck!

My travel agent got back to me and told me the price would be higher with this PIN than what I have now I am getting 15% off of AoA with the latest disney offer so I guess with this PIN it is less than that. I didn't book park hoppers anyway so getting it free is not enough of an incentive to pay a higher price

That stinks. We did book hoppers and I have the aaa discount which is a better discount than the room discount we are staying at pop. Hopefully I will get good news later

So my travel agent called and now we are getting a savings of 240.16... Woohoo I'm so happy!!

I can't think of any triggers for us. In the last 4 years, we have been three times. Both my fiance and I have registered accounts on the Disney site and both of us have ordered the DVD. I would frequently price out "fake" vacations on the web site while logged in... not in attempt to trigger a pin, but just to price out the trips I was brainstorming. We got a free dining pin last year and I booked with it (went for 10 days in November on the pin), and now we got this pin. We don't have anything booked and I haven't been on their site at all. This is actually the third pin I've gotten... we got one in 2011 that I didn't use, but we did end up booking a trip with a public discount and got deluxe dining.

It might also be a regional thing... lots of people from Buffalo and southern Ontario/Toronto frequently travel to WDW and several of the cheaper airlines have multiple direct flights from Buffalo as well, which Canadians often take advantage of. All speculation on my part though!

Both times i received pins in the past 3 years were at/around the times I was obsessively pricing out vacations on Disney.go.com repeatedly. I was planning for several dates but didn't end up booking any right away. I figured the pins came as an enticement for me to "pull the trigger" and book. I'm sure that like most websites Disney tracks site usage and by whom. I'm thinking that once I logged into the site to search & plan but logged off before committing to a booking it was noted on my profile. It was then the pin offers arrived. I had been checking daily for about a month & was always logged in as I searched. We had been to WDW yearly each year for several years prior which I'm sure figured in as well.

I just wanted to note. Our trip was already booked when we got our pin.

Got the same PIN and I am also a November goer!

I also got another PIN before that one for discounted room or Free Dining for stays in March only. Both pins were by email so hopefuly they send me one for Novemberm eventually!

I also got both of these! I often leave trips in my cart as well.:lmao: I am hoping for a fall pin too!

A little new to this, so please help me. I just want to clarify, the 3 digit letter thing (got one in an email last night) is a 'promotion code' right?
What does a pin look like (numbers/letters/how many characters?)?

Thanks!!

Yes, you just got a promotion code of rack rate or whatever general public offer is currently out for your travel dates. PIN codes are 15 digits long. They have recently been called "unique offer codes" I think. Other than the 15 digits they read just like all other offers.

Thank you wdwmaw!

Dh has received the last 2 pins too and we are also going in Nov. I am really hoping this means we will get the fall one too :)

I got an unique code offer via email last night for save up to 30% on rooms AND with minimum 5 day magic your way you get free Park Hopper offer. valid from 6/1 thru 8/28.

So I called and asked for add on park hopper being I'll be there 10 days. But problem is I arrive May 31st. The day before offer starts.

I've already got a good offer now. If I switched reservation to June 1 thru June 11 I'd save around $100... but then I'd have to find a hotel for may 31st.

I suppose I'll just leave it alone.
