I really want to chat about ADRs and other WDW dining options. Anyone wanna join in?

It's a real shame that we've lost a lot of these more chatty threads on TP and I do think there are often posts on Comm which would be better suited to TP. Obviously some posts are categorically one thing or the other (in which case the moderators will move them), but there are many where the a case could be argued either way. Clearly some posters identify more with one board or another and I can't get overly excited about it as long as, between the two boards, we provide an environment for UK DISers to share and engage. I would like to encourage more of these threads on UKTP, though. As long as they're about sharing Florida trips, anything goes - we welcome the fun threads! What's your favourite ride? What extinct attraction do you miss the most? Dole Whips are evil - debate. Bring 'em on! :teeth:

I know we're getting somewhat off topic now but I tend to agree with you Deb. I think it's a shame that some of the threads that could provide a forum for lively debate end up getting closed because some people have to stoop to personal insults.

I must admit, I couldn't see why there would have been a problem with this thread being on the TP board. But I'm more than happy to contribute regardless of where it is.

Meanwhile, if you want to start a Dole whips are Evil thread, I will more than happily participate ;)

Awww, glad you like the thread Deb, I jsut didn't want to start anything tht seemed a bit OT ovr on the main thread.

Move away though if you think more people will like it over there, as it is going to be 90% WDW related.:)

You sound as though you are getting really excited Torsie.

I cant imagine what its like having to book so far in advance. When we have been to WDW we have never booked anywhere (however we did eat off site a lot)

I remember walking into the Mexican restaurant in Epcot on Christmas Day and getting a table an hour later and getting lunch in the castle and breakfast at Crystle Palace by booking whilst there a day or so in advance

I remember eating at the San Angel Inn on Christmas Day without a ressie too!!! :goodvibes

Actually, I went to WDW last October half-term during the IF&WF with my two sons and didn't many any ADRs whatsoever prior to going!!! Once we'd arrived at BWV, I just went to the concierge desk and they were able to get all the ressies I wanted within half an hour of my desired time (including the elusive Le Cellier) SO if there's something you want and (IMO this is the key) you are a small party, chances are you will be able to get in... :cloud9:

We too had read some awful reviews of ScFi, we tried it a few weeks ago and loved it! The theming is great the staff friendly and the food was pretty good.

T Rex is brill to, we did not go last trip but did try it back in Jan. I will be giving it another try next trip.

Has anyone been to the Storybook lunch or dinner at Epcot? We usually do CRT but are getting a bit fed up eating here and it's always good to try new places...right?:confused3 I am worried if I don't book CRT I will regret it for the kids sake if that makes sense :rotfl: I have 6 days to decide...oh the stress!

I'm going to pop this thread over to the UK Trip Planning Forums now, as it's a fun thread and it will give a chance for those UKTP DISers to take part :)

Dole Whips are evil ????? surely not ;)

Completely agree on Dole Whip but there is also Funnel Cake and the Ice Drinks that are served at the Japan pavillion in Epcot - surely these should all be made illegal!!!

Also agree with the online ADR's its so addicitive. I wonder how many people will make double reservations and not turn up for one?

Anyway, enjoying this thread and thought I would share my dining reservations for our Aug/Sep trip

Wispering Canyon
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Princess Story Book Breakfast in Norway -DD BDay
Teppan Edo
Boma
California Grill
Ohana
Park Fare
Chef Mickeys for breakfast
Le Cellier

Watchout though I read on another thread that if you make double bookings both can be cancelled, so could end up with nothing.

both are worth a visit imo :thumbsup2

hope that helps x

Yay i'll join in :goodvibes

My ADR day is 14th so a bit of time to finalise my plans yet but these are the TS meals we've decided on:
Boma breakfast (made an ADR last time but couldn't make it so this one is a must!)
Boma dinner (the bf's favourite WDW restaurant)
Coral Reef dinner (first night, like we did last trip :))
Le Cellier dinner (backup for here or Coral Reef just in case we can't get one of them is Garden Grill)
Flying Fish Cafe dinner (last night)
Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner (probably before MNSSHP, considering wearing our costumes as we definitely want the 'antics' ;) :rotfl2:)
50's Prime Time Cafe dinner
Ohana breakfast
Beaches and Cream (paying OOP)

As far as CS we mostly like to use these for breakfast but we'll use some for lunches at MK (Cosmic Ray's and Columbia Harbour House) and Epcot (Tangierine Cafe, Sunshine Seasons, Cantina de San Angel and Lotus Blossom Cafe are all on the list of maybes, will probably decide which we feel like on the day!) AK and DHS aren't great for CS IMO so doubt we'll bother there. On our first night we have a CS dinner planned, not sure whether to eat at the Pepper Market or DTD though, hmmm! ;)
