We will be on the 4nite Jan 4th cruise and I really want to spend time at the Atlantis resort doing all that there is to do there. My question is for those that have been in Nassau in Jan. have you ever booked Comfort Suites to get the access to the atlantis stuff. I have been quoted 151.20 for a room there. There are only 3 of us. Is the weather warm enough that we will want to be at the water park there? Is this worth the money? The atlantis beach excursion offered by Disney would cost us 180.00 for the 3 of us and you only get the beach. I need advice form those who have experienced this. Thank you....love these boards and all things Disney!! Marilyn:wave:

One of my best friends was at Atlantis staying there this past Jan for a week and he said the weather was so cold they were wearing sweatshirts and were still chilly..it went into the low 40's the week they were there....but the following week it was in the high 70's so you never know. I know he was very dissappointed there though because they had wanted to do the dolphin swim and the slides and it was to cold for any of that....its a 50/50 shot on the weather in Jan.

We went to Atlantis a few weeks ago... Atlantis is fabulous! The Dig and the Pools are great... (decided that their beach was NOT the greatest.....)

Yes, I would recommend the Comfort for a day room... A simple walk across the street.

However, it sounds as if you are interested in all of the water amenities... I have heard that the pools are NOT heated... And, it can indeed be chilly in January. Any other time of year, I would say Yes! Go ahead and book at the Comfort!

Go to weather.com, pull up Nassau, the bahamas, click on averages. You can find the temperature, rainfall, sunrise, sunset, etc....

PS: For anyone interested in booking at the Comfort.... Go to Placestostay.com, and proceed as if you will be booking a room. This may show you promotional rates that I have not seen elsewhere. then, I would recommend calling the Comfort 1-800 reservations line and ask for any promotional rate that you saw. We got the LGOLD promotional rate of $136.50.

We were on the Jan 5th 2003 4 night. We got a day room at the Atlantis resort and fully enjoyed the day there. It was an overcast day, but still warm enough to sit on the beach and by the pool. My kids were on the slides all day long and had a ball. My husband also went in a couple of times. We live in Florida and are used to warm weather, so if we didn't find it that chilly, hopefully you won't. The weather is a gamble during January, so maybe you want to make the reservations and keep an eye on the weather. You can always cancel it a few days out if you want to.
