I Paid Someone $5 for a Catchy Trip Report Title, and This is All I Got-Updated 12/29

Great PhotoPass pics.

I really do want to do more things in Innoventions. That videogame thing sounds cool.

I need Judy's number so I can tell her about the fairies.:rolleyes1

I love your picture with Goofy

Great photo's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone certainly looked like they enjoyed the characters.

Good info on the new video game thingy whateveritscalled. I'd read about it, but not anyone doing it yet so that's wonderful. I think we will be hitting it on our trip, a good heat escape item for the agenda.

Thank you!

The kids don't remember what it was called either. It's not the new Sum of All Thrills thing, where you design and ride a rollercoaster, although I definitely want to try that. It was a good thing to do to escape the heat, and there was no wait, so that was good. I don't think it'd be worth waiting too long for, though.

Well, I would be very scared too if suddenly I realized that Alfred Hicthcok decided to make a cameo in my Splash Mountain picture.

Were the birds behaving normally that day?

You're right -- that guy does kinda look like Alfred Hitchcock. "Good evening."

All of your pictures are great, but as Goofy is my favorite I have to say this one is the best... your "rise the roof" one is funny too :lmao:

I like Goofy too. When I looked at the pictures I couldn't believe how I screwed that up.

It was cool to see yourself in the game...running, jumping, and dancin'

When we were getting the videos taken of ourselves, we could re-do them if we didn't like them the first time. I can't remember what I did for the victory dance the first time, but I think I re-did it with this kind of a number ---> :woohoo:

I wish I had some pictures of the videogame. If I had known it wouldn't get e-mailed to me, I might have taken some. Well, probably not, but you never know.

I need Judy's number so I can tell her about the fairies.:rolleyes1

I don't think she could handle it!

I love your picture with Goofy

Thanks. It's not often that Goofy looks like the smart one.

Oh... and I do remember TRON.

I was one of those three persons that saw it on it's theatrical release :rotfl:

At first I thought you wanted to reenact that The Simpson's episode when Homer asks if someone saw TRON and everyone answered "no"... some of them more than once. :lmao:

Also, TRON was the second DVD I bought, the first one was "The Night Before Christmas"... so I guess I'm kind of a big fan.

OK, so now I showed my age too  let's forget about all of this.

Great pics! My kids always loved Innoventions and we always did it last because they never wanted to leave. On our trip in August we didn't even get to go in because we ran out of time and they still loved Epcot best.:confused3

I knew you looked familiar....I was there too.

I'm not familiar with that Simpson's episode, but I'm sure I would have laughed at that.

I stopped well short of buying a DVD! The only time I've seen it was in that theatre back in 1982 (had to go to imdb to look that up).

You got it. 'nuff said.

Thank you. Yeah, I think when we go again next June we'll have to spend a little more time here and in the World Showcase.

This great TR doesn't deserve to be in the 3rd page....

And by the way, I mean to write "The Nightmare Before Christmas" my favorite animated movie.

All caught up... Great updates!

Great, thank you. Looks like it's time for another update, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to that!

Thanks for the compliment Tribilín. It's my own fault for lagging on the next update, but as I said above I'm not sure when that'll be. I can't tonight or tomorrow night....maybe over the weekend if I can get a jump-start on it over lunch tomorrow.

Okay, that makes more sense. I'm not sure what my favorite animated movie is, probably any of the Pixar movies. We saw "Up!" and it was great. We also saw "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" (non-Pixar, gasp) and I thought it was fantastic. My favorite movie, any genre, is "Amadeus".

So, I'm back on-line and catching up on trip reports...

Back to the trip report. When I last left you it was day 6 of our trip, we were enjoying Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and I had just gotten soaked on Kali River Rapids.
but not surprised right? It kills me the people who get on totally innocent ... don't they look at the people that are getting off the rafts?
I admit, I do cheat if I'm still planning on few more hours at the park: I don a plastic raincoat, mostly because I don't want to get a wet butt, and once out of sight of the "dock", I whip off my sneakers off and throw in the bin.
.....maybe it's my age, but there's no longer any glory in a wet butt or soggy sneakers!

When I got to the fastpass machines, all of our annual passes were wet, from being in my pocket on Kali. (Why are annual passes made out of paper?!! :confused3) I don’t remember if I tried them and they didn’t work, or if a cast member was right there and I mentioned it as I took them out, but anyway, she took them and dried each one off on her pants-leg, and then reached behind the fastpass machine and pushed some magic button or something to shoot 5 fastpasses out for me. ..............
That happened to me as well, but the CM actually gave me a card labelled Family fastpass "for your family to use for the rest of the day instead of any of your passes", and told me to stop at Guest relations on way out to replace my parkpass. So, that appeared to be good for as many and as often as I wanted to put it thru. I was just about done w/ MK for the day, and so gave it to a family I "met" on the MK train.

I wonder why the anal passes are paper but the ones you get for just a week are plastic....doesn't make sense.:confused3

And this is just too good a quote to not revive!

Next stop: catching up on jordanyosh's PTR for Feb

No, not surprised at all. I knew someone would get it, I just hoped that the odds would tilt in my favor.

That would've been great. Thank you cast member!

Yes it is! I just shook my head when I initially read it, like here we go, who's gonna be the first to jump on that little typo?!

You're gonna be a while, but good stuff!

Oh I just meant to give it a little bump. Glad to hear there's more to come soon, but there's not need to rush.

My favorite movie, any genre, is "Amadeus".
I can see why, stunningly beautiful and wicked funny movie.

My all time favorite movie is Bladerunner... yep, another "dark" movie, kinda strange because I'm one of those annoyingly perky guys everybody tries to avoid :rotfl:

Oh! And the infamous typo issue... LOL! I´m sorry glennbo123, but I think it will haunt your TR forever.

:bride:Rock me Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus ...
oh oh Amadeus!

(Falco fan as well! Even have Amadeus on a 45!)

(see, that icon is meant to be a man in a wig, not a bride....)

I'm going to have to rent that....it's been a long time since I've seen it.

Yes, I remember that song well.

The first thing we saw when we walked out of the Character Spot were some other characters, I don’t even remember who, with people lined-up for photos. For a brief moment we thought, “Should we?” Then we all unanimously said, “No!” We couldn’t take another long wait for character photos, especially outside in the heat. :sunny: But, since it was so hot we decided to visit Club Cool again for a pause that refreshes. :drinking: No takers on Beverly this time, but we compared notes and tried to decide which ones we liked best. There were several different opinions on this, so I think we’ll go with “anything other than Beverly”. :crazy2:

Then we went to use our fastpasses on Test Track. The weather looked fine when we went in, but while in line we heard an announcement that bad weather was approaching and it was possible that the ride could be shut down. So we held our breath and crossed our fingers and shut our eyes really tightly, saying “no, no, no” and “please, please, please”. :worried: Just kidding, except for the “please, please, please” part. Fortunately, rain did not interrupt our ride and we got on. So here, come along on the ride with us, at least for the “more thrilling” section.

And our photopass picture showing my camera technique. We look pretty mellow in this one. Marlene still closed her eyes.

Image0820.jpg

Then we decided to leave the park. On the way out we ran into a photopass photographer and asked him to take a few pictures for us.

One with my camera.

img_1288.jpg

Then a bunch from his camera, jazzed-up with borders and everything.

Image0824.jpg

He took a couple of the girls. Fortunately James didn’t feel left out. I guess we’d been photographed enough over the last few days that he didn’t really care.

Image0827.jpg

Image0829.jpg

And then a few of Judy and I.

Image0831.jpg

Image0833.jpg

I don’t even know what to say about this hot, sweaty kiss.

Image0836.jpg

We left the park at about 3:00 and were back home by 3:20. I took a couple of pictures of this piece of folk art that is in the Kidani lobby. I’ve seen it in a few other people’s trip reports. If I remember correctly, this sits on top of the TV that constantly runs Disney cartoons for kids to watch while their parents take care of business at the front desk. I like the close-up picture better for the color and detail, but you need the second one from further back to see what the guy is doing. He’s wearing a pretty fancy hat for plowing.

We were all exhausted…the week was catching up with us. So, instead of going to the pool, we closed all the curtains (it can get pretty dark in those AKL suites) and we all napped until about 5:00. We needed it.

In the next installment: Dinner at ‘Ohana.
