I just had to shout this to people who I know will appreciate it! I shop at Publix mostly, but in the past few months I've been going to Winn Dixie to earn Fuel Perks. I try to buy my wine, beer and anything they have fuel points attached to weekly that I need. Over the last month, I earned $2.58 and this morning I was nearly on empty and when I filled up my SUV, it only cost me $22.80. I felt like it was the late 90's again :thumbsup2

Great job!! I am so glad Stop and Shop partnered with Shell because my car is diesel and Stop and Shop gas stations don't have diesel. 2 weeks ago I saved 50 cents a gallon, which adds up when you have a 26 gallon tank!
Then I bank the difference an that goes into my vacation fund.

I go to Stop and Shop and there gas points are an extra perk for me.

Last weekend I was driving up to see my DDs at college. Filled up before my friend and I left and got a dime off which is better than nothing.

Went 3.5 hours to see them and then took them shopping at S&S. By the time I drove back home (after dropping off my friend) I was below 1/4 of tank. So I used the dime I earned from buying DDs food and filled the tank again!

Every little bit helps the budget.

I love gas points too! My personal best is 90 cents off each galling at Giant!! Saves a lot when filling up my Expedition!

Jealous of you folks who not only have cheap groceries, but fuel rewards to boot. I could get $0.20 off 1 tank for my groceries for the week, but it would cost an extra $100 for the groceries to save $2.40 in gas.

I love Krogers for this. I have the 123 Rewards card and I buy gift cards and every few months they do 4x's points for buying certain gift cards. The most I have saved a gal is $1.10. I think I have .65 cents right now to use.

I have 2000 points on my Dillons card from gift card purchases at Christmas to get used before the end of this month. I have already purchased 105 gallons this month with $1.00 off. The Dillons stores here are 4X points all the time. We use gift cards anytime we can mostly at Home Depot, Target and Amazon. I wish they would go back to letting you use more than 1000 point per fill up again.

I had .50 on mine this month with .15 expiring at the end of the month. So I gave the card to my dd as she needed to fill up, and I didn't. I pay for all the gas anyway.....LOL. I only have the little keyring tag as the cashier forgot to give me back my big card one day. So my dd takes it inside. She said the girl gave her .20 off and told her she had .30 left for next time. have you ever had that happen to you? I have always had them take the whole amount off. Plus how did the girl even know how much was on it until she scanned it? Shouldn't it take the entire amount off once she scanned the card? It was really odd.

Safeway up here has fuel perks, but tops them off at $1 per gallon (excess points/cents off is reserved for another fill-up). The best I'd be able to get this week is $2.20 or so per gallon. I am jealpous of the $1.14!

$2.58 is my personal highest in points, but I find them very easy to rack up. I cook with a lot of wine, (and we really enjoy drinking it too!), so I try to snag at least 1 or 2 bottles a week and always choose whatever has the biggest fuel perk points attached. Sometimes 1 bottle alone will have $.25 in points! I also try to take advantage of the Proctor & Gamble specials where you buy a combined $25 in certain things, like toilet paper, Tide, paper towels, Dawn, you get $.25. I'm awfully glad Winn Dixie doesn't cap the dollar limit per use, but you do have a 20 gallon limit. That works great for my Durango :)

Our Kroger had been running the $2 promo, we filled both SUVs last night for $1.07/gallon, totaling a whopping $32. The promo ends in our area tomorrow.

Several times a year Giant Eagle runs specials with double fuel perks on gift cards, so 20¢ per $50 spent. Before Christmas I stocked up on cards I knew we would use throughout the next few months - Amazon, Panera, Max and Erma's, Dicks, Starbucks, American Eagle, Lowes, etc. They are good for up to 30 gallons, so DH takes his SUV and a couple of 5 gallon cans and gets a few free tanks. I have bought Disney and Universal GC too when we were planning trips. Combined with the 3% back at grocery stores on my credit card, I feel like I am saving while spending. I WISH our grocery stores sold wine.

I shop at Stop &Shop and have no idea how to use my gas perks... can one one explain gas perks for dummies? What do I need to to with me to gas station?

Bumping this up hoping someone will take the time to explain how gas rewards work (Stop & Shop)... please & thank yoU!

We primarily shop at Giant Eagle and every couple of months we get free gas. What is nice is that they let you have up to 30 gallons and you are allowed to use gas cans. So we fill up our Grand Caravan and have enough in cans to almost fill up my Focus.

Now that they quit accepting competitor coupons, we won't be shopping there as much anymore though.

That doesn't work for me. One car takes 87 and one takes 91. Then again, I guess if it was free, it wouldn't hurt to use 91 in the Toyota. Using 87 in the Jetta though pretty much kills it.

The biggest problem I have with Giant Eagle though is, I would spend $200 more on groceries to get $90 worth of free gas :confused3. Giant Eagle around me is ridiculously expensive.
