Part 1 - History

Hi everyone :wave2:
I'm a little nervous this is my first hand at writing any
type of report so go easy on me!

Our cast:
Me - Traci (38, b-day 6/6, will be 39) They call me "T" at home.
Kevin - (45) My go-with-the-flow husband of 7yrs.
Nova - Perky and wise 6yr old. "Monkey Girl" or "Boo"
My Mom - (62) Don't want to sound mean, but she is a bit of a ditz!
My Dad _ (66) loves science,& war shows. We call him "Molecules" behind his back, of course.

Let's start with a bit of WDW history. Back in 1980 when I was 11 yrs old. My Grandparents set up a little bus tour, overnight trip to MK for me and my parents. that's all that was there at that time. The resorts were the Contempary, and the Poly. I think that was it. We were visiting my Grandparents in Margate,FL. We lived in NY, and never heard of WDW. WOW! was I suprised, that first gaze of the castle blew my mind. It was a hot August day, Mom came down with heat exhaustion by 2pm or so. She was very sick.

So the 3 of us head to the hotel, which was off-site, and it was a very seedy Best Western. That's all I'll say about the hotel. Dad declared, were not leaving the room. Anyway, I spent a total of 1 late morning, & an early afternoon in MK. Yippie! What a tease that was. I vowed someday I would do some real time there.

Fast Forward to so-called adulthood.
I booked a 10 day trip for Oct of 2000 for me and hubby. Only problem was, hubby and I weren't getting along so well those days. We split up 1 week before the trip, Disney was compassionate and I got back most of my money.

Re-married, had a brat, and booked a 6 night trip for Feb of 2004. One problem though. DD came down with a horrible ear infection 1 week before the trip. She was 2yrs old, and needed to have tubes inserted. Trip was cancelled 2 days before we were supposed to leave. Got my money back with a doctors note & went to DLR for a week the day after her surgery.

That was fun, but not my dream.

Part 2 - It finally Happens!

Off to WDW April 2007! Yea, goes off without a hitch!
Except the room had bedbugs and our luggage never came after 3 calls down to the bell desk. Midnight, after I marched down to the front desk at POR the luggage beat me back to the room.

Well, I learned a bit from that trip. Like, as soon as you get off the Magical Express drop your bags at bells and EAT FIRST! Then check in. Its a long day of travel from Vegas. Sandwiches that I packed for the plane just didn't cut it.

All in all it was awesome! Kevin was quiet the day we left. Very quiet. 2 hours into the flight home he leans into me and says, when are we going back? I really hadn't thought about that. I didn't think he would want to spend the cash again for another trip. I came back with, how about Feb 2009? Never again in April, it was to humid for us desert rats.

So here we go, the run down of our 10 night 11 day, February 2009 trip. My Parents invited this time. It was hard for them to watch us leave that April 2007 morn. After all, they do live with us!

Day 1 - Arrive, drink. that pretty much sums it up!

Day 2 - Sleep in (we like that), hang at the resort.
2PMish, head over to AK, Discovery Island only.
Check out AK Lodge, 6:30 Boma ADR.
Call it a night, jet-lag recovery!

Day 3 - Kevin golfs this day at Osprey Ridge.
Mom, Dad, Nova & me spend the day at DHS
with a 4:30 ADR at Prime Time cafe. Viewing of
Fantasmic. Ice cream back at AllStarMO.

Day 4 - Sleep in! Grab a bite in room or at World Premire
MK about 11am. 5:00 ADR @Crystal Palace.
Spectro & Wishes.

Day 5 - Sleep in. Get on bus about 11am over to World Showcase. 5:30 ADR Nine Dragons. Followed by
Beer & Illuminations.

To be continued.......

Okay...I'm in for the long haul.......:thumbsup2

February's a great time to go by the way...You are going about the exact same time that I did this year.....

Glad you finally got to do a decent trip, subbing to hear more!
Thanks for Subbing! We had a great time back in April. Kevin golfed the Palm course, & we did the Luau at the Poly. Inspite of not so good reviews we had read, we had a great time!

Yea! Thanks Jordan. Glad to hear a plug for February.

Pretty much thats why I'm writing this so far out. I figured I would throw it out there and get some feedback on the time of the year & the ADR choices I made before I go and book. ;)

Yes, he loves to golf! We have to tote the clubs, & shoes. Actually I'm the one who ended up pulling the clubs in the travel case thru very crowded MCO When we visited in April. :headache: I'm only 5'4. It was a struggle!

Sleep in? You betca! It is a vacation after all.
We save comando for DL & Cali. Adventure.

Can't wait for chapter 28!

HI ED!!!!:yay:

Some of my plans might change. we might stay 5 nts ASMo. 5 at the Beach Club.

I was just going to ask where you are staying.

What were your dates last April. We were there April 4-12 and the only hot day was April 4 and April 11. The other days were freezing cold.

April 22nd to 28th. I think its because we are not used to humidity at all.
temps were like 77 to 85 with about 80% humidity. :scared:

The Cape May Clam bake is in my next trippy which I plan to post this weekend.

We love it and have eaten there twice. Any questions?
