I ordered by dress - pic included!!! - and other updates/questions

It's been a while since I have been able to log in...hope everyone has been doing well.

I ordered my dress ! ! !

It was nothing like what I thought I was looking for! But I love it. And I loved the way it felt on me. I was surprised by the size they had to order - 2 sizes bigger than I expected...they said the dresses run small but wow!

The designer is Demetrios.

The date is September 22 (about 7 months away!!). We are getting married at home but we will be honeymooning in Disney for 5 nights/6 days (but first we are going on a cruise!)

I think we have almost everything major planned...except the limos and hotels for guests.

I think I am most confused on bridesmaid dresses and the color scheme in general. I think right now my colors are navy and rose. I love navy for the dresses but I am not sure what shade or rose...I am thinking of a medium pink. The guys refuse to wear pink and I think navy vests will look bad with black tuxes so I am thinking the guys will wear silver. So do you think navy on the girls and silver on the guys will look ok? I always thought they were supposed to match. I don't even know where to start with flowers although we have an appt on Sat with our consultant. She says she can work any color I want into the arrangement..

The flowers will be important too because we have decided to carry a flower theme throughout the reception. We are going to name our tables after flowers and we want the centerpiece to match the name of the flower. We are going to use seed packets instead of numbers to label the tables...

So any thoughts/tips/ideas anyone has will be appreiciated!

Your dress is beautiful. I think silver would be great. They don't have to match exactly. It's your wedding. Do what you want. Maybe go to the tux shop and look at different combos together.

Oh, and I think that Navy is a great color for your bridesmaid dress...and no, they don't have to match with the groomsmen. You could incorporate navy and medium pink in their ties. I've always been jealous of the gorgeous patterns, fabric, and colors that they make men's ties out of! Oh, and you could pick a third color, or even a fourth color for your color scheme! Who says you only should have one or two colors! Maybe...navy blue, medium pink, and red? ...or even a soft buttercup yellow?

beautiful dress! my DH wore silver vest with black tux to our wedding. the GM matched the BM's, but silver would have been my second choice, it pretty much goes with anything! good luck! oh and I wouldn't worry about the flowers, if your florst is as good as mine, she can do anything! i had NO ide awhat i wanted when i walked in and she did it all and it was beautiful!

I love your idea of flowers/names for tables...i went to a wedding that did that & it was cool.....the didnt do place cards/seed packets....they had this frame that had a drawn flower & the name ot the flower in a beautiful script & then the names...it was awesome....i MIGHT have taken a pic of it, if I did I will post it.

Just wanted to chime in regarding the vest/tux situation: I was thinking of navy for the BM dresses and thought the same about the blue/black tux thing - however, at David's Bridal, they show a LOT of the pictures of navy weddings with the groomsmen in black tuxes and navy vests, and it looks really nice! I suppose it depends on the navy itself, but their navy looks nice with black!! If not, I am sure the silver vests would look really nice too!
