I now know why so many people don't love Animal Kingdom

My kids loved AK.We went when it opened and left when it became too hot.

DH and I both think that other than the MK AK is the best park to be in to beat the heat. Even though there isn't anything to do inside because of all the shade we find it the most enjoyable in the heat. The vast expanses of pavement at MGM and Epcot just absorb the suns rays making it unbearably hot and humid. We like the shade at AK and it always seems to be breezy there for some reason.

I always thought that getting around Epcot in the July heat was worst tha AK. Shade is a rare thing at Epcot, just moving from one building to another makes us miserable. World showcase is the afternoon is also tough. I prefer the shade of AK and all the misters spraying water....makes it more enjoyable than Epcot in July.

The first time we went to AK I did not like it at all. It was crowded, hot and looked dirty to me. We enjoyed Safari, Kali River Rapids, Dinosaur and Dinoland but I was just really disappointed and figured we would not go again. Oh, did I mention it was in June and it was hot as all get out. Fast forward to our last trip in March. It was much cooler then and we really enjoyed the park more. It was still crowded and by the time we left around 2:00 it was getting hotter but I found the park to be one of my favorites now.
