I noticed Disney will now charge for guest parking at resorts.

Just thought I would pass this one along. While making my reservation for Feb I saw this about guest parking at resorts. Never thought this would happen, especially at Deluxe Resorts. Oh well there goes another 100 or so dollars.

Well this sucks. I'm used to it at hotels in big cities with limited parking space, but didn't think it was becoming an issue at Disney World!

I see that. I was at the Wilderness Lodge last September and don't remember being charged. Guess I probably was.

major bummer they started this, I feel. Adds up quickly and really affects FL residents who enjoy staying on property.

This info is from last year lol.
It started in March 2018 as the info given above states.
Most guests are well aware of it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that some FL residents or off-site guests used to park at hotels and then use Disney transportation to get to the parks so that they wouldn't have to pay theme park parking. And even though Disney Springs parking is free, they don't have bus service to the parks so they can't go about it that way either. I wonder if this contributed to Disney charging for resort parking (in addition to the pursuit of the almighty dollar). $24 per night is wild to me though. That adds up fast.

Day guests can still park for free.
If you want to park all day you have to pay for valet.
I think the main reason they added overnight parking fees is to keep guests at Disney.
The fee may deter people from renting a car to go to other attractions.
Unfortunately this really hurts the guests that have their own vehicle they drove from home.
