I never knew how huge High School Musical would become for Disney Channel

Ever since it debuted in the 2000's on Disney Channel I never thought that High School Musical would soon become one of Disney Channel's biggest movie franchises next to The Cheetah Girls franchise. I think what Disney Channel had in mind when High School Musical came out they thought it would be Disney's version of Grease. And due to the film's success it turned stars Ashley Tisdale Monique Coleman Corbin Bleu and Vanessa Hudgens into huge celebrities for Disney and Zac Efron would be a teen heartthrob of many girls and High School Musical was seen everywhere from clothing to toys like dolls and other merchandise such as food appeared and seeing how High School Musical was such a success High School Musical 2 was made like Paramount did with Grease by making Grease 2 and High School Musical 2 was also successful and gained Disney Channel huge ratings. But I think when High School Musical 3 came out I think Disney was wrong to release it in theaters and they should've put it on Disney Channel instead but it still made a good movie. And when the High School Musical spin-off movie Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure debuted I think this movie was gonna be a trilogy movie series starring Sharpay Evans but it's amazing that Disney+ had High School Musical The Series which started the career of Olivia Rodrigo. But little did we know that due to High School Musical Disney would soon learn that successful movie franchises become hits and they would repeat it with Zombies and Descendants

I think what Disney Channel had in mind if and when High School Musical had it's premiere on Disney Channel they knew that this was the movie that would soon launch a franchise of films. Because seeing how successful The Cheetah Girls were Disney Channel hoped to repeat the success with High School Musical and as huge a hit it became I think High School Musical broke records in TV when it premiered. And once High School Musical debuted they knew that a sequel would soon be on the way and High School Musical 2 proved the same success. But now you don't hardly hear about Monique Coleman Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel anymore and I think the one star that really made it big was Zac Efron because since High School Musical he made himself a household name in Hollywood because just like Grease had John Travolta Zac Efron was the John Travolta of High School Musical and Vanessa Hudgens was the Olivia Newton-John of High School Musical. And because of High School Musical Disney Channel would repeat the success with movies like Camp Rock and Teen Beach Movie
