Help with gift--uncle, former military, moving out of country
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DH's uncle retired from the military about a year ago. Next month, they are moving to Germany (that's where his wife is from). I want to put together some sort of meaningful (but hopefully not too expensive) gift for them. Their DD just graduated high school this year and for her, I'm going to make a shadow box with her graduation picture, name card, etc. For the uncle and aunt, I wanted to something representative of the USA since he served for over 20 years and since he's leaving. Any ideas? I thought of also doing some sort of shadow box as it woudl be somethign nice to hang on the wall an dthink of his family here in the US. I thought of maybe putting a flag in there, but what else? The family is huge (he has 9 brothers and 1 sister, plus they all have kids and grandkids). Getting the whole family together for a picture is impossible. So any ideas on what else to put in there? Maybe a poem or something? Some sort of Army memorabilia? or any other ideas all together? We will see them July 4th, so I don't have a whole lot of time.
