We are going to WDW in May. We being (me, dh, ds, and my mom, dad, and my nephew) ok here is the situation. At first we were going to stay in a pool home which was a very good deal money wise, we are staying for 9 days. Well anyway we changed our minds and decided to stay at WL which I was VERY excited about because I've always wanted to stay onsite. Well now its been brought to my attention that staying onsite will put my mom and dad in a financial bind. I wouldnt hesitate one minute to change back to the villa BUT my son and nephew doesnt really get along well at all, and my dad chain smokes and we cant stand the smoke. Staying at WL we will be having seperate rooms and in the villa we will all be TOGETHER. Staying in the same quarters with them for 9 days would drive my crazy and Im not whinning but Im dealing with anxiety attacks and depression and my nerves are not very strong, but Im feeling a little guilty about holding them to the decision to stay onsite. What do you all think? You may ask "Why did we decide to stay in a villa in the beginning?" well I'd forgotten how miserable it is to spend a lot of couped up time with my nephew. LOL

Yes, I agree with you, I wouldnt want to be staying in the same quaters for 9 days!

If they can't afford the WL, get a moderate or value for them. Or you guys should both compromise, and both stay in a moderate hotel. Just a thought.

I would go with a moderate resort - my favorite is POR. The grounds are lovely, the boatride down to Downtown Disney is relaxing, there are little brooks with ducks to feed and in addition to the cool main pool - there are 4 other quiet pools with laundry facilites right there. There is also a really good food court - and you can get pizza delivered to room in the evening.
Codes for saving additional money on Mousesavers should be coming out in January - and I'm sure there will be some available for POR.

Good luck planning and let us know what happens.

We did Pop Century when we needed two rooms. My sister (chain smoker) could walk right out the door and walk around the water and smoke. Since we were paying for the rooms no matter where we stayed, we made the decision to stay at a value so we could spend more money on dining and use the kids clubs. We put our daughter at the Sandcastle CLub to give her a break from my neice in the hopes by the end of the trip they would not hate each other. The get along great but the togetherness can get to us all sometimes.

The food court at Pop is fantastic and the Bus service first rate.

Good luck!!!!

Well actually my second choice is ASMo. I think my son (and nephew) would love the themeing there. I just dont know, I do know however that I am absolutly NOT staying in that villa with them that long. You all would be hearing of that diser that was put in the nut house at the end of her vacation. LOL Do you suppose I should mention the ASMo to them? And see what kind of reaction I get?

Check out my CSR website for pics, links and info. Your DS will love the Dig Site.

I understand about the nephew...and I know it's a harder sell on the parents....did your parents agree to the WL without knowing the cost? Have you figured in any discounts? They will be saving with the new stay longer cost breaks. And generally, discounts will come out for rooms and specials...I would think your parents would prefer POR or POFQ...and the theming at the pools are great for the boys...alligators and such....the rooms at both have been refurbished this year (most anyways) with fridges in the room, new mattresses, carpets and fixtures..so it would be very nice for them....I know my parents would not like AS at all...so that's where I'm coming from...since they're coming and taking care of nephew I think it would be nice to think of their interests...the boys will have all the parks to keep them psyched up. Let us know what works out for you!

Gosh in all the hub bub of trying to consider their money situation I never thought that they may not be interested in ASMo. Is it me or is the chosing of the hotels the hardest part of planning?
