I need to find out about AAA Availability before I commit to buying a AAA membership.

We were thinking we could save some money on upcoming trip by purchasing AAA and getting a package through them. But, I don't want to buy AAA and then there be no availability. Does anyone know if I can find out if they have any packages with room discounts worked in for our time frame BEFORE I buy the membership? Thanks.

Yes - any AAA travel agency should be able to check for you before you buy the membership - and you can go through a local agency or one in any other state. It's a good idea to get an online quote on Disney's website first to make sure you're paying less than the rack rate. The AAA discount is off the room portion of a package.

I didn't check packages BUT I did pull up there website www.AAA.com and just started playing under "travel" I was checking resort only and discount prices and I had acess, I do not have a card or membership (yet). Also, I was allowed last nite to make a ressie with cro at disney, for the AAA price without having the AAA card yet. They checked prices on the phone for me and gave me a good quote, which I took. Never asked for a card or number. I realize I need one for check in, and since it's next august I have plenty of time to join.

make sure they give you the discount i was on the phone with AAA and they gave me the same prices as disney so no discount off the room

Anyone can book travel through AAA so make sure you're getting the member price. (I learned this on the phone with them today)

If there are no more AAA Discounted rooms available, AAA will still quote you a price - which will most likely be the rack rate. The AAA Travel Agency is exactly that...a travel agency, and they want to book what they can whether they can give you a discount or not. You might need to specifically ask for the discounted rates.

Just make sure when you speak with a AAA travel agent that the package reflects a Magic Moments discount off the room portion (that's the fancy name for the AAA discount). If you price a package online at disneyworld.com, you will have an idea what the regular price would be, so if the discount is available, the price would be lower.
