I need to book MTO rate... do I wait for a travel agent?

I went on the Dis Unlimited travel website but it says I need to wait up to business days for a reply... should I just book the MTO rate directly? It's a $200 credit, but I could miss out on the discount rate.

I think you can book and transfer the reservation but I think there may be less OBC if you do that. Costco is the only one that I know of that doesn't penalize the cash back if you transfer.

Can I transfer after the paid in full date?

Being that MTO sailings are limited to 50 (or less) staterooms, I would book it directly through Disney now. I do not know if the DU OBC would even be offered being that it is such a special rate, who knows what kind of credits and commissions they make to even offer an OBC on a heavily discounted booking?

I recently wanted to book OGT and tried to go through DU. I always get nervous when there is a limited number of rooms or a risk of missing out and sometimes it takes the better part of a day for the agent to get in touch with you. After filling out the request the agent got back to me with the regular price (not OGT which was still available) and quoted me $3,000 more. I don't know why she didn't quote the OGT price for me, but I didn't want to mess around and lose the opportunity, so I just booked it myself. The OBC is nice, but I wouldn't chance losing the MTO rate waiting for an agent to get back to you.

I heard back from DU within 24 hours, I kept checking the room count to make sure we didn't miss out. We were able to book the stateroom of our choice and also get $200 OBC. I would have booked own my own but they have plenty of availability.
