:yay: I am getting married on 7/4/09 and I have a dilema... I made rose wands for the girls in our wedding (9 of them)... not all of them are in the wedding, but their parents are so I wanted to give them something to remember the day...

But now I have nothing for the boys.... About 5 of them.. . one of which is my son.... so any ideas on something I can make for them??? I do not need a ring bearer and this is a wedding on a budget (as i am sure everyone is nowadays)..... So I turn to you guys... my disney inspiration... don't be shy... every idea is a good one... PLEASE :rolleyes1: :cheer2: :grouphug:

They range from 3 to 10...

i am looking for something semi disney related and something that can be a keepsake for them like the wands are for the girls...

I am really stumped on this one... :scared:

I am not sure how much you want to spend - but you could get personalized harmonicas. I agree they are kind of noisy but they would also be fun and something that could be kept forever.

mickey watches? mickey ears?

I will keep thinking I am kind of stumped too b/c you don't usually give young boys anything at weddings and they aren't as easy to shop for as girls.

Well at Disney the male version of a wand seems to always be a sword, but I dunno how many casualties you wanna sustain at your wedding. :teeth:

What about those light-spinner thingies they sell on carts in the parks after dark?

Since you are getting married on the fourth of July... why not make the boys some flags? Fabric would be really inexpensive (either cotton or nylon/flag fabric) and you can make them as big or little as your want.

I would just do a solid white background, then with a fun colored fabric, cut out a Mickey head. You could use patriotic prints/colors since it is the 4th or use your wedding colors. Then just sew the Mickey head in the middle of the white rectangle (zig-zag stitch) or use a fabric glue (you would probably want to cover the edges of the Mickey head with a trim though, to clean it up a little if going this route). Then repeat on the other side.

Glue to a dowel rod, painted or not, and viola! A gift that would be the equivalent to a wand for the girls (That isn't a sword! :rotfl:). :)

Also, CinderelliT posted a template in the do-it-yourself thread for a Mickey, here it is reposted:

Hope that helps! :) I think flags would make for a cute photo-op, too. :)

This helped so much... :worship:

Thank you so much... my husband to be loves this idea and even adapted it a little...

I am going to try and make Mickey pirate flags...

Now on to try and figure out how to do such a thing:laughing:

My husband to be is so proud that he has "improved" this idea... I can't wait to tell him he gets to help put it together  :rotfl:

Once again.. thank you so much for the great ideas.. I never would have thought about this at all... :grouphug:

Glad I could help! In all honesty, the first thing I thought of was swords, like Lurkyloo! :rotfl: But then I saw what day your wedding was... ;)

Edit: Oh, and you must post pics when you are done! :) I want to see the pirate adaptation!
