i need some info about gps software pls!

Hey Guys ,

Maybe you will find this type of question irrelevant for this type of forum ,but i really need some info on this ,so i decided to try..I hope somebody will be able to help me ..

I need some information about GPS navigation systems (especially ones with free try outs) ...I made some research and the only one which i could find was NAV4ALL ,which can be downloaded for free from their website ..It looks pretty OK form the description ,but it is quite a new software and i am not sure if it is realiable and safe to be downloaded ..Has anybody checked it out and can you give some other suggestions for free GPS software ? Thank you!

Would you be looking for use in the UK or Florida? I have a Tom Tom handheld machine and it works just perfectly. I am thinking that since you are looking at free software that you already have a unit that you would be using.

I have a motorola v3 and nav4all works pretty well. The programme downloads only requested maps which makes it very light and fast. However, the downside is that the maps are 2D and it's not as fancy as tomtom. I guess that's how much you get for a free software... i hope they'll improve it after it gets paid

i need the software for europe in general ..my job requires lots of travelling here and there...
jane ,from what you wrote it looks like a cool software ..i don`t really need anything fancy ,as i am going to use only on main roads and highways ,so ...form what you said it is suitable for me ..but what bothers me is the price of the on-going services ..is it expensive to use?

i was pressed by time and i decided to download it anyways
It is safe to download ,that is for sure , and it is quite nice ,especially the real time thing is really smart -it actually downloads maps from a satelite so everything is up to date ...I hadn`t use such phone gps before ,but it was funny and ..definitely useful

yep and it's not that expensive after all because you decide how many maps you want to download... you don't have to download all the maps from a certain area.. only the ones that you need; so you wouldn't have to pay for maps you're not gonna use

but tell me ,have u experienced any problems with the downloads ?last week i needed a map and i could not download it initially ...in the end ,after 2 hours , i managed to do it , but i was very frustrated ! Do u think it is up to provider or is it the satelite ?
