Hey everyone!

Ok...been to WDW over a dozen times, just got back last week as a matter of fact. So I was talking with my DH and I told him that for our anniversary in Jan I wanna go to USF to stay there instead of Disney. We always stay on site at Disney, and well I wanna try something different. And I LOVE USF and IOA, and would like to stay at the HRH.

Here are some of my questions...and please forgive me if they have been asked already....just now started visiting this board! :)

I saw on the travel channel that they allow pets in the HRH. Any info would be so appreciated....like can you keep your animals in the room overnight, what are the policies, etc. Is their a website that has this info? I tried the universal.com, nothing. I like surfing the web instead of calling!

Read lots of bad reviews on the rooms...is it really that bad? Or just timing has alot to do with it? Are the rooms nicer than Disney property...say the Wilderness Lodge deluxe room?

And how are the crowds in January?

Sorry to bombard you with so many questions! Should I make a separate thread for all these ??? LOL

Hi,

Here is some info on the pets:)
Pet Info Hard Rock

I am sure timing has everything to do with great stays as well as the people you encounter. This is our second trip staying on-site and we have always had no complaints with service or the rooms. We also stay on-site at Disney and honestly Universal hotels have it ALL over Disney hotels. Just my opinion. That is when comparing same type rooms at both locations. I love staying on-site at Disney, I just love it more at Universal. I havent stayed at Wilderness but have stayed at Poly and Contemp and GF. Crowds in January should be minimal so long as it doesnt include a holiday.

Have fun planning! :)

Thank you Jessica!

In your opinion...what kind of view is best for the money...and are the standard rooms just as good as the deluxe room?

Well in my opinion if available and if you are going off season I would book a poolview room at Hard Rock using the entertainment card rate of $129 a night and hope for an upgrade at check in to a deluxe poolview. Yes I would pay extra for a poolview but thats just me. Also try the AAA rate or Fanclub card for discounts. I have also seen (think it was a mistake?) maybe not, a few people get discounts on room using their loews first card. In your case if you are traveling with a pet I believe you will have to book a floor level room and quite honestly I am unsure what room types are offered. Good Luck:) The standard rooms are lovely the deluxe rooms are just a bit larger.

Aaahh...floor level room for pets? I see....maybe I will leave my little sweeties at home!

Must be one floor for pet/pet owners only, and that being the first floor.

THanks for the tips! :) You have been alot of help to me!

Get Loew's card to try for upgrade, the club level here was really nice, they have continetal type breakfast, but good selection, cheese and crackers with wine/beer in the evening. They had what I would call a great eclectic choice of brews, some as poor
family man had never tried, I had some Guiness, some other exotics. They do not require you to open, so we brought much beer back, it was nice on the drive back, when we stopped for the day to have a cold one, considering the prices for soda/beer/wine this is not to be overlooked. They also have soda/bottled water all day so you can grab and take to parks, it does start to add up.Also they have virtually unlimited cookies and milk at night, they were great, again skipping the overpriced desert at city walk saves you $$$.I would at least price the concierge level, or get the card and try at check in. I had real good luck asking the booking people they gave me a good idea I was hitting this place at a slow week, whereever you end up you will have a blast.I have been at Disney both world and land and this is nicer in my humble opinion, especially for the $$$.It was sooo nice to be 5 minutes from the parks and the FOTL or whatever they call it was sweet. We never waited more than 5 minutes, never forget the line in the heat at Jaws, walk fast and don't make eye contact, the word sweltering does not do Florida justice in summer, and I'm from Texas.....
