OK fellow DISers. I'm in need of some help. My future DH and I are getting married in September and I want to plan a surprise honeymoon for him. But since I know that we're driving, how do I keep it from until we get to Florida???:confused3 :confused3 Also, I'm thinking about going end of November/beginning of December for about a 7-night stay. Any ideas on money saving tips and is that a good time for two people to go???:rolleyes1 I need help like I said:scared1: !!! Any tips or ideas would be great thank you!!!!

Tell him you're taking him someplace he'll love and it's a suprise. Just leave it at that. Avoid Thanksgiving week like the plague. Go the first two weeks in December and DW will be as slow and least crowded as you'll ever likely find it. Get your room at an ALL Star resort as they don't get much cheaper than that on Disney property. Eat breakfast in your room as cereal, fruit or pop tarts to save money. Meals, be they counter or sit down are large enough for two people. Get one and split it. Then get desert and split it (that should be romantic anyhow). Thats about as cheap as it gets, regardless though, its all about making memories and securing your relationship with each other anyway. Best Wishes!

if you have AAA membership, you can almost always get a 20% discount on rooms.

If you're trying for Values or Moderates, book as early as possible because those rooms go fast in early December due to a couple of activities going on at WDW during the first coupld of weeks of December (Mousefest & Pop Warner.)

 I agree with going first 2 weeks in Dec. We have done both and the time we went on the first week there were a lot(I mean a lot) of cheerleaders there. We stayed at POFQ. Last year we stayed at Pop Century and I liked it a bit better than All Stars. Same price but Pop has a dedicated bus and All Stars sometimes makes stops at all three All Star resorts. Plus he will get a kick out of the Decor. My DH wanted to go back to Pop this year so we are headed down 12/5-12/14.
Several years ago my FIL had cancer and was pretty sick, we had decided in first part of that year that we were taking him to Disney. They had been a year or two before and really loved it. We planned a Magical Gathering and he did not know ALL his kids and there families would be going. This may not be legal and it probably borders on some kind of Copyright thing but I typed up a letter from Mickey and found his signature on the Internet (google , i guess).
In the letter I wrote details about the trip and "See ya real soon" Love, Mickey. He was touched and his bottom lip quivered. It was fabulous. So maybe when you cross over into the Sunshine State you could give him a special letter from Mickey, or a personalized T-Shirt.
Our trip was absolutely everything it could be and more and I would have carried him on my back down there if need be....we miss him very much and when we go, Philarmagic is a trigger that makes spending those days with him priceless. I will always love Disney for making our family's dream come true. Sorry I rattled on.. but DO IT, whatever it takes and carry the surprise as long as possible--he will be thrilled.:santa:

I'll second that you will want to avoid Thanksgiving weekend. After that the crowds should thin out until later on in December.

Watch the Pop Warner crews if you do the Value Resorts. I read a thread about them and you will probably want to avoid the time when they are there. I can't remember where I found that thread but I think you could do a search for it. I am also sure there are plenty of fine representatives of PW as opposed to the ones who were obnoxious at the resort (according to the thread I read, I do not have personal experience).

I also think the Christmas decorations should be up so that would be an extra bonus.

Go to the DISigners forum (not sure if that's the formal name or not, check it out on the main page) and see if you can find anything you like as far as making a shirt. You can make a request if you find something you like and the designer can personalize it for you.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage and your Disneymoon!
