IMediaPro..they are based out of Palm Desert, California.

She is a realtor and they produce CD Rom's and she is in the last stages of production and ready to receive her CD after a year of being in the works.

She tried to contact them and has not been able to get through, she receives a recording when she calls that says "Due to an emergency we can not take your call" and gives no further information or anything. This has been for over a week

I do not know if any DIS'ers in that area have heard of anything or was there any problems with phone service in that area or anything.

I suggested to her that she overnight a letter to see if it is signed for or anything. She is so upset, and has spent a lot of money for this CD with this company as well as having to have professional portraits and go to a recording studio for voice overs. I feel so bad for her, but I am starting to fear the worst.

If you do not want to post anything, please PM me with any information you may have.

Thank you so much. This is not intended to bash the company or anything, I am just so worried for my mom.

I only know an associate of mine at my office has just started in the past several weeks, to embark on getting this. I can ask him if he has heard anything, Lisa.

Thank you so much, anything that you could find out would help so much to put her mind at ease (and mine also)

I just did a search of the Better Business Bureau in Southland (www.bbbsouthland.org) (where Palm Desert is) and looked up ImediaPro. It appears they also have operated under the name www.coldcallcowboy.com and www.audiobusinesscard.com. This is a quote from the BBB:

This company solicits marketing products, which they claim are designed to increase business. The products are sold via seminar sales presentations nationally. Some products are offered with a conditional money back guarantee. In other cases, buyers are advised the contracts are non-cancelable.

Complainants allege the products, and cancellation policies are misrepresented at sales presentations. Some complainants allege they experience difficulty canceling, or that the company fails to honor their money back guarantee.

The company responds to complaints by canceling contracts, issuing credits, offering to continue services, and offering technical support. In most cases, the company refers the customers to examine their signed non-cancelable contract. In response to complaints regarding failure to honor their money back guarantee, they explain that the guarantee offered is conditional, and all customers may not be eligible.

The Bureau does not take into consideration the volume of business in relation to the number of complaints on file.

The site doesn't specifically go into any 'complaints', but IMHO what they have up there is enough to give me some concern. That and their website isn't 100% up to par for a place that does multimedia for a living.

I hope your mom gets her CD... It sounds like a good idea and it appears you pay them a hefty chunk of money to do this. If this doesn't pan out, she could probably find someone local that does multimedia presentations to do a really close facimile.
