We are going on a 3night cruise and 4 night WDW trip in September and we need insurance coverage for it soon. I paid the deposit on our cruise portion on the 13th, so I'm asuming I have about 1-2 weeks to get insurance to cover it all.

Who do you use for trip insurance that will cover WDW (hotel, tickets, etc), cruise, and flights.
We'd like "cancel for any reason" option too.

Thanks!

I think you actually have 24-48 hours from the time you make a deposit to purchase insurance with cancellation with most insurance companies... except for the travel insurance through the Walt Disney Travel Company - you can add it anytime up to final payment time.

I normally use RBC insurance (http://www.rbcinsurance.com/travel/index.html)
and Travel Guard (http://www.travelguard.ca/en).

I'm pretty sure tone.def is correct. I used do sales for a cruise agency years ago and I seem to remember it was 24-48 hours. Your cruise deposit should be refundable for any reason though 75-90 days out. We don't usually buy insurance (and we take minumum 2 vacations a year) because of the limitations. What concerns me is that you want to be covered to cancel "for any reason" . Almost all policies you buy will have a list of covered reasons for cancellation. Your reason for cancelling has to be on that list or they won't pay. Also remember that if you do cancel under the policy, you don't get back the money you paid for the policy which could be up to $300. A friend of mine recently had a $5000 trip booked to Mexico for May. She had paid $400 for the best insurance policy she could get, and when the Swine flu thing hit, she had to reschedule the trip. She had a LOT of trouble being able to do that. Even when there was a recommendation not to travel to Mexico, they wouldn't let her cancel until there was an actual advisory. She was able to rebook for September and didn't lose any money. (Interestingly enough though, September is a much cheaper time to go to Mexico and she would have paid a LOT less if she had originally booked Sept)
Anyway, the point of my ramble, is to be VERY careful you are clear what you are buying, think of scenarios that would cause you to cancel and be sure those reasons are covered.
What we DO always get though is travel medical which I get as a supplement to my husband's extended health through his work. I buy a policy every year from Pacific Blue Cross for about $95.
HTH.:)

I have read through, I think it was travelguard? That they give you 14days from your deposit date to purchase insurance.... Thats what I was going off of, maybe we'd be better off purchasing through disney.
I am booking the cruise and land portions seperately, will Disney give me a deal on insurance to cover both, or will I get charged for both seperately and end up paying double?

Hmm, I booked the cruise part already because we had two of the last gty cat 12 rooms on hold at the time and it was about to run out that day :(

AAA (we live in Alberta) will let you purchase trip insurance any time prior to the final deposit being due.

You have to sign a waiver stating that you have no pre-existing conditions though. I decided against insurance this trip, even though we are travelling in Sept. (high hurricane season). Reason being, I purchased airfare on my Master Card (which I believe has an insurance of some sort that if you don't get the service you paid for , you get reimbursed)... also, I figure if a hurricane happens and delays the flight, Air Canada is pretty good about booking you on the next available flight.

One last consideration was, to even implement my insurance, I would have to lose 30% of my total vacation time to even start a claim. Which on a 11 day vacation would be 3 whole interuppted days.... It just seemed like so many clauses in the insurance clause where the company could just decide they do not have to pay. I did not want to fork out $350.00 for something I "may or may not" be able to access if needed.

I do have extended travel medical coverage through my husbands work, though so that is a good thing!
