Update 10/23/06: It has been a while since my last update, my brother has been doing great. This morning he went in for another bone biopsy to make sure he is still in remission and to make sure that no cancer cells are present in his body. After growing the last culture they realized that some cancer cells where still present, which they had assumed since he was not on treatment for that long before his body went into remission. So we are praying and hoping that this test comes back negative for any cancer cells in the bone marrow or in the blood stream. So if everyone can send up a little prayer for my brother I would really appreciate it.
Update 7/13/06: My brother went for a bone biopsy yesterday morning beccause they could not detect any cancer cells in his body. We just received word from the Doctor and the preliminary results are in and Brandon is IN REMISSION. We are very grateful for this and we know it is because of everyones prayers and good thoughts. So thank you to everyone who has prayed and please continue to pray that Brandon stays in remission for the 28 months and then he will be considered cured.
Updated 7/3/06: I know I have not updated in a while but my brother came home Wed. after speding a little over 3 weeks in the hospital. Today my brother went for his first check up since being released from the hospital, and they think my brother might already be in remission. I am so excited that words can not express how I feel. They are sending him for another bone biopsy next week. Can everyone please pray that he is indeed in remission? If he is in remission it will be 28 months of remission until they consider him cured. I know that if he is in remission it is a complete miracle since he was only diagnosed a month from this coming Thursday. So I know the prayers are definitely working.
Updated: My brother does have leukemia, but the type he has is very treatable. He has only had it a couple of months, and the reason for all the symptons was because he has a infection in his blood. So right now they are treating that and then he will attend graduation even though he can not finish the last couple of days and the principal is going to figure out how to get him finished up but he will defenitaly walk with his class, which was very important to him. Right now my family is weighing all our options to find the best possible place for him to go for treatment. My mom is looking into LIJ, Sloan Kettering, St. Judes Childrens hospital and Stony Brooke where he is right now. But the most important part is to get him stablized as soon as possible so he can start treatment. I thank you all for your prayers and please continue to pray for him, but like he said he is not giving up for nothing and he has a great family to help him fight the good fight.
I know I do not post that offen but I need prayers desperately. They took my little brother who is 18 to the hospital last night because he had a high fever, his fever reached 105.3. They ran some tests at Good Sam and then decided to transfer him to Stony Brooke Hospital. I am hoping it is just an infection since he did have a infected cut, but they are going to be doing a spinal tap to test for lukemia since he has alot of the signs. I am begging that anyone that believes in God to please pray that the tests come out that it is just an infection. He is due to finish high school in 6 days. In the last year we have lost 2 aunts to cancer and I don't think my family can take anymore bad news.
