Paul is really excited about going to Mickey's Halloween party, and today I asked him what he wanted to be. I figured he'd say a Disney character or something. Nope. He wants to be a ghost! I should have seen it coming. He's got a real thing for ghosts. He's always throwing towels or blankets over his head and pretending to be one. One of his favorite words is "spooky". So, now he's all excited about being a ghost for Halloween . . . and I have to make a costume.

So, any suggestions for a ghost costume for a very tiny 3 year old? He wears a size 18-24 months clothes. I need something that a.) he can see out of, b.) will be cool and easy to get around in, and c.) won't make him look like a junior member of the KKK.

Oh, and it should be simple to make without any sewing. I'm seriously not gifted in this area.

Any thoughts or ideas?

I would dress him all in white. White sweat pants, white sweatshirt (or long sleeved T shirt as it may be warm here that night) white gloves, all white tennis shoes, and a white hood or hat.
You could paint his face white as well and then use black eye liner pencil to draw circles around the eyes to look like a ghost. Maybe add a smile line to his mouth to be a "happy ghost"

If you wanted, you could add a "cape" made from a yard of white sheer fabric that you just safety pin to his shirt shoulders.

My son at age one loves to walk around our front yard covered in a white sheet it is very ghost like. You could take a white sheet or muslin and just cut it so that it just falls to the floor. You could also cut a hole out for his head. You wouldnt need to sew the edges of the costume in fact it would look more ghost like if you didnt. Then he can wear white under the sheet to stay warm.

Could use a white pillowcase with a white strip of fabric to belt it around his waist. After belting you pull UP the fabric until it's the right length. Don't forget to cut out the little eye holes or he'll be bonking into walls! :lmao:

Sounds like you've got a good time planned. :thumbsup2

.

Just buy a yard or two of white fabric and cut out some eye holes. No sewing needed, just a pair of scissors to cut out the eyes. It also has the added benefit of being small and light weight to pack in a backpack if he doesn't want to wear it anymore.
