I need honest reviews about Wyndham Bonnet Creek Orlando

We have stayed at Bonnet Creek 3 times in the past year and have never had any issues with any of the rooms or critters. We have stayed in a 3 bedroom presidential, 1 bedroom deluxe and 2 bedroom deluxe. Everything is clean and well maintained. We didn't see many bratty kids, in fact I found that the kids behaviour overall was quite good. Yes there is splashing in the pool and lazy river but big deal, that is everywhere. It was never excessive. I have seen far worse behaviour by kids at the deluxe resorts. You will have a fabulous time, please don't worry about this.

My family leaves in a week to go to Bonnet Creek for 2 weeks and I am a little concerned with all the mixed reviews lately. It seems like everyone on these boards love Bonnet Creek.

I take the mixed reviews with a grain of salt, but then again not every bad review is from a person that wants to complain. If the clientelle at the resort is changing due to the fact that people can rent at a very low price, then the people on this site must be seeing that change too, but don't mention it.

The reviews are mostly about rooms with a parking lot view or garbage disposal view. When a person with a room near the compactors said they had roaches in their room I would definitely believe it. I think a lot of people know the difference between the palmetto bug and a roach. New York has their own version of the Palmetto bug -- it's know as the waterbug.

Does Wyndham give renters the rooms that aren't in the best of condition and face the parking lot or garbage disposal area? I'm sure that when a person checks in, they know whether the person is an owner or renter.

I'm just hoping for a room that is clean and the furniture isn't that worn out. Since I am on vacation, I would love a nice view. I would rather have a noisy pool view on a low floor than to have a dumpster view. We see enough of that in Manhattan on the lower east side.

We have water bugs here in Texas too, so I know what those big buggers look like. We stayed at Bonnet Creek May 10th-20th and never saw anything resembling a roach, palmetto bug, or water bug. The only things we saw were rabbits a couple of days playing out by the lake. We rented a one bedroom through Vacation Strategy. We were placed in a second floor room, in building 4, facing the lake. We didn't spend alot of time in the pools or lazy river, but when we did, we never saw any rough housing or heard any rude or disruptive people. We never used the grills, so can't say how the people were over there. We did walk around the lake a few times and everyone we met spoke and was very pleasant. The few staff members we had dealings with were very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and furniture did not look worn. We were down on the end of building four, closer to the main building, so our room did not overlook the pool, but did overlook the lake. Even being on just the second floor, we never heard anyone all week (either walking outside in the hall or on the sidewalk below our balcony).

We loved Bonnet Creek so much, that as soon as we came back I immediately started getting quotes for a Sept and a Dec trip. A couple of weeks ago I booked both a Sept trip and a Dec trip from two owners I found on myresortsnetwork.com (Shelby Resorts for my Sept trip and Aaron Washburn for our Dec trip).

We just got back from an 8 night stay there. I wouldn't say overall we loved it but it definitely had it's pluses. So, for the negatives.....We had a 10th floor lake view which was nice but we were above the towers pool so you could hear music at night sometimes. The room itself was fine but not like a gorgeous suite or anything. The furniture and carpet was ugly. Everything wood had scratches on it and there were some stains on the cushions and drapes. The washer sucked as it really didn't clean anything well and the dryer had to be run twice. Plus it was very noisy. I also hated having to walk into that nasty smelly trash room to put our garbage in the chute. It was also annoying there was no vacuum. DS spilled cereal and the sweeper thing wouldn't pick anything up. The parking was bad at night and we usually had to park high up in the garage. I wouldn't say this would be typical though because we were there at a very busy time of year. As for the positives, the location of the resort couldn't be beat. The variety of pools was awesome. Yes there were rowdy kids, but honestly there were also rowdy parents! When we were in our room, besides the pool DJ, we rarely heard anyone else. We did hear our neighbors fighting one night but that's because they were screaming at each other on the deck and while they did that their kids was jumping on the bed next to our room. We saw no bugs but lots of lizards. But only outside. The timeshare peeps never bothered us, not even one phone call from them.

Overall it met our needs and I personally enjoyed our stay. However I can't say we'll be back. DH told me he prefers the privacy of a townhouse.

We stayed for a week in 2010 and it is a beautiful resort. The pools are gorgeous and the rooms are very nice. Having said that it is not for us. Our room was on the first floor right next to the pool and music was blaring until at least 10PM every night. Very noisy. We are Wyndham owners and prefer other resorts offsite that are a little calmer.

If we were there with grandchildren, our reaction might have been different

We have stayed four times. Once with my parents, once just us two, and twice with DS, DDIL, and two grands. I can say we enjoyed all, but I do think like the Disney resorts, it's not for everyone. No problems during any stay. I think one needs to list pro's and con's for their situation.
