I Need Help!!!

I want to make sure that I organize my pins for trading at the event. I, like many, have been saving up pins to trade at the event. I have two and three of many LE's that I have been collecting to trade.

Here's my problem. I have a large pin bag, which I had neatly arranged with my pins before my collection tripled in size. I now have most of my traders on their original card and in individual ziplock bags. How should I organize my pins? I really want to be able to trade some of the LE's I have collected for those that I don't have. I can put some on a lanyard, but should I keep my perminant collection in part of my bag and just put the extra traders in the pockets or just fill my bag with traders? I am concerned because I don't want to get taken by any sharks, but I also want to make sure that people can see what I have to trade.

You may want to just take out the pins you really have no intention of trading. First it will stop all the "Is this for trade " and second it will safe guard your collection and give you more room in your trade bag. I can't speak for everyone but when I'm looking in a trade book I assume everything in it is for trade. I have a page in my book that I put my new "just got" pins and I tell everyone who is looking that this page is not for trade. It is always in the back and I try and empty it everyday. Brer Rabbit Nat is right. I taught him everything he knows . ha ha. I would not expose your personal collection.
If you want to have it with you in case something comes along that you really want keep your personal collection seperate.
You can keep it on the back page of the book and tell them it is your personal collection or just keep it out of sight.
A good thing to do is to ask the person what they are looking for.
Also about the extra LE's expose them in your book. I will put one in the book and and one extra with me in a zip lock bag.
Other wise it looks like you have a fire sale. Hope this helps out. shirley38

Heck, even when I do some online trades I still have to tell some people to stay off my keepers! Some seem to go straight there to choose the pins they want.

My keepers are sacred, you can't offer me anything for them. But some collectors don't mind trading theirs. So, I'd say it is up to you: How bad do you want to retain your permanent collection? What you are serious about keeping, leave at home. If you think there's something that could definitely make you fall in love, bring them along but keep them tucked in a secret pocket

And I'd say, if the offer does not feel good, say thanks and walk away before you regret what you did!

Advice from the best - not much to add.

The only thing I do now - If I have duplicates I put a mark in my book to know I have one in a pocket so I can leave that one on the page and give out the packaged one.

Thanks guys for all the great information. Looks like I will be pulling my keepers onto one page in my book. (I want to show them off!!) Anyway. Here is another problem, should I bring the black back cards with my traders?

Most people I know don't care about those cards. Their pins go straight into the pin bag or a display anyway.

I wouldn't be annoyed by dragging those cards around.
