We already have the soundtrack from Lilo and Stitch and also the other cd called Island Favorites. I really need suggestions on other tropical or Hawaiian songs/music that are appropriate and fun for young children.

Any suggestions? Thanks!:sunny:

Check out just about anything by "Bruddah Iz" (Israel Kamakawiwo'ole). He had such a beautiful voice, and all of his albums are great.

binny~ Thanks a lot.

We had to reschedule DD's birthday party (back in January) and will be having it this weekend. She chose a Lilo and Stitch theme. I ordered a lot of stuff from OTC, but I didn't see the luau music until now.:( It's too late to order it, we need it for Saturday.

I was planning on just going to iTunes and putting a cd together, that's why I'm looking for titles. Thanks for your help.

Check out your public library. Ours have lots of CD's and they have Hawaiian music ones. You might call or ours have a web site with their catalog online and you can look for things that way from home before you go to the library. It might be worth checking into. Our library is great!

There is a CD of kid versions of Jimmy Buffett songs. I think it is called the Parakeet Album.

Sorry Rita, I was gonna say JB too.....do you have a Borders near you? Or try Best Buy, they should be able to look up kids music/themes and give a list. Try their website as well for a listing. Tell your DD Happy Birthday, and take ton's of pictures. I do remember the TIKI TIKI TIKI room song for kids, but not sure who recorded it.

I know Hillary Duff sang that Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room song.....

Jimmy Buffett is your best bet!

We are doing a "Beach Day" at my daughters school in a few weeks where we do the same thing, play all sort of beach type music and dance, play games and have all sort of yummy refreshments.

Try the groups Keahiwai, Sistah Robbie, and Three Plus. Those are some local groups, not sure if you will find something, but it's worth a try. Let me know how that search goes.

As I said, we already have the other CDs that I listed, but I wanted to have other tunes for the kids and adults. I'm looking for upbeat and happy songs.

Here are the songs I have so far;

Iko, Iko (two different versions)
YMCA (got to have that);)
Kokomo
Surfin' USA
Amber (ok, that's for me);)
Limbo Rock (2 versions)
Electric Boogie (what's a party with it?);)
Hands Up!
All Star
Wipeout

I will check out those suggestions, momtotwo.

Thanks!
