Sorry this might be long but here it goes, I want to teach my kids about budgeting there money before we go, 7 & 9. So I could use some pictures Of the towels theysell and anything else you can think off. I am going to make my kids a vacation game, to teach them to bugget there money before we go. I am going to put in on an old candy lane board and then print out pictures of disney world, the ship, and then costa maya and paste them over the candy land, lands. (We are doing wdw, then the cruise.) Then paste stuff on the squares like, buy a mug at wdw for $12 and get free refills, buy a mickey bar 2.50, star wars legos $50, Mr potato head stuff $19. At the end part of the game I will post stuff about our ports. I will put stuff like a hammick(sp?) a hanging chair, but don't have prices for them from costa maya eather yet, any other stuff and prices will be greatly app. each time they play they will get how ever much money they have saved up tell "now" in there savings account to play with of monoply money. I think it will be fun to teach them this way. But I need prices for the stuff, thanks I have looked on ebay but have only seen one towel from c.c. it was a checker board one and going for $20. But I have not seen any from wdw, or typfoon lagoon. thanks for all the help. Oh things like dole whips, stuff from the bakery, the ice cube drinks, pina coladas ect. would also help. My point is to temp them on each color square, just like the real wdw. this is going to be so much fun. thanks so much. Mum of two pirates.

p.s. any other ideas or comment would also be great> I can't wait to get it done and play.

Unfortunately I can't help as my trip isn't until 2007 but I would love to here the rest or see a picture. If it works for you kids maybe it will work for mine. Can you PM me with the rest of the details?

Thanks :thumbsup2

Sounds like a neat idea! I do not have pictures, but I can give you some prices:

Beach Towels - $20 or $22 (newer designs are $22)
Light Spinners - $14
Mr Potato Head box - $18
Pins - $6.95 to $10.95
Kids T-shirts - $19.95
Mickey Rice Krispy - $2.50

:rotfl: :lmao: I would love to p.m. you all the details and the great picture of my game board. :rotfl2: But you see I just thought up this idea on wed, So I don't have much yet. Tomorrow 6:30 am tell 6pm we host a wrestling tournment, did all the set up tonight, then sunday we drive over 3 hours for a birthday party. So in aweek or so I might have something going. But for now I was thinking of using a candy land game and covering it with contact paper, so I could change the sayings on the squares if I wanted to. I am going to type up on the laptop what Will go in the squares. I have creative memory square punches and thought after I typed it up, I could punch it and it would fit nice inside the square and leave a small color border on it. Not sure if we will use dice or maybe a dice of colors. each kid will probly get two tokens to move around the board instead of one so they get more chances to buy stuff, and wont miss something. thats all for now.

caribear thanks for the prices.

Deep breath in....and let it out sloooooowly. :rotfl2:

There are actually two sizes of containers...one looks like the 1lb container you get at a deli (for potato salad and what not)...I think that's $7. The bigger one is 8-9" tall and a bit narrower at the bottom then the smaller container.

Parts...we were there at Christmas this year, they had car bases (with the things to pop the wheels on), wheels in 2-3 different sizes, windows, doors, door frames, fencing, bricks that have the thing sticking out to pop a tire on (so you can put them on any size vehicle.) If you're just going for car parts, you could easily get enough to make 10-15 cars in one of the big buckets.

There were pieces to make palm trees, and i think there's flower pieces as well. Lots of generic bricks in clear colors. There were also accessories for the people---snowboard, swords, guns, helmets, hair. Lots of tiles (for roofs or floors). Lots of these long (2-3")curved, roof looking pieces that my son uses in making space ships and race cars.

The doors didn't always match the door frames so find a match before you put them in the bucket---learned this the hard way :smooth: Also, there are other pieces, like these hinge-looking things, that you need to have the mates for...and those mates are not on the wall, so don't waste the space in your bucket---again, learned this the hard way!

When you get the wheels, there are the black rubber parts and the hubs they go on----make sure to pop them together before you put them in the bucket, you'll take up less space.

No, the people aren't included, there's a separate "station" for those. You can build three and get a little pouch to keep them in for $10 (it might be $9, I can't remember.) They also sometimes have clearance items in the store....my son got some Star Wars set for like $12 (was $19).

This was at the Lego store, not Once Upon a Toy. If you're going to be going to any restaurants or stores outside Disney, look for those coupon books...when we were there one of them had a coupon for the Lego store---$10 off when you buy $50. Also the same coupon is in the back of the Passporters Guide. But even without the coupon, I think these buckets are easily one of the best deals you can get.

Have fun!!

Now I can't wait. We have a friend that does counceling with kids and has started buying them lego to do threapy, So I wantto get her a bucket also, I'd love to be able to pick them, but the boys will I'm sure. I think we will take a small thing of legos, and buy ours the first night and then they will have them to play with while were there. :cheer2: :cheer2: OH ya :yay: oh ya :bounce: oh ya

Cool, I'm sure your boys will love it. And there's nothing saying you can't make a bucket too ( I know I did since I was the one who knew how to smoosh everything in there!)

Here's a link to a pick of the Lego wall where you get your bricks. Ignore the pre-made Lego sculptures, they've been changed out, scroll to the very bottom picture.
