I want to know if there is a deluxe resort that will sleep six. It will be myself, my wife, mother-in-law, DD (5), DS (3, 1). I stayed at AKL last year and booked two rooms, but the budget is a lot tighter this year. I thought about a 2 bedroom villa, but that I am not sure what it would cost. Is it less expensive to book two rooms at a moderate as opposed to one room at a deluxe? I have only stayed at deluxe resorts, but I am not opposed to staying at a moderate or value. Any help would be appreciated. :cool1:

With your group, you could actually book a regular room at most deluxe hotels. I know for a fact you could stay at BWI, BC, YC, GF, POLY, and CR. All of those resorts allow 5 plus 1 in a crib, which you would be able to do. Also at AKL, you can book a deluxe category room and still fit all in one room, as that room type as the same occupancy 5 plus 1 in a crib. At WL, you can book a deluxe room (or junior suite I forgot what they are called). The occupancy of that room is 6 and it has two queen beds in the bedroom area and in the sitting area, there is a sofa bed. For your party size, you'll have to book a 2 bedroom if you want a DVC resort, you'll have LOTS of room and not be cramped. Also, the FW cabins also sleep 6.

2 rooms at a value resort is your best money wise.

for beautiful the moderates are almost as nice as the deluxe - however they only have 2 double beds (not the queens of a deluxe)

as far as a 2-bedroom villa - completely depends upon the time and DVC resort of your choice. OKW in Sept, jan would be $220 (22 points * $10 per point) for one night stay Sun- thurs. Higher other times and higher other resorts.

You could also stay in the FW cabins. that might be the preferred - based on your party size. for the same time period $260.91. Sept, Jan

for 2 rooms at the Pop Century - $171.71 per night (for both rooms).

these are rack rates - WDW generally has discount codes.

both FW cabins and 2-bedroom villa have a full kitchen.

Pop century being a hotel room does not.

The 2BR villas we have stayed in have been wonderfully spacious. There are 2BR villas available at all of the DVC "home away from home" resorts including OKW, BWV, BCV, VWL and SSR. You could rent any of these going thru CRO, but the weeknights would be a lot less expensive renting from a DVC member, as spicycat notes. The DVC Rent/Trade board here on DIS could be a very cost-effective way to do this.

Good luck!

I'd do 2 rooms at a value or moderate resort. I think you'd be cramped in a deluxe room. Plus, it would be nice to have 2 bathrooms and 2 TV's. The cabins or a villa would be work as well.

I personally like the convenience of the deluxe resorts when travelling with two toddlers. I would definitely get a BIG deluxe--Contemporary or Poly, plus they are on the monorail line, so you can easily go back to room or take very short trips to MK. I know the Contemporary has two queen beds plus a day bed, and they will bring in a pack-n-play.

But then again, I'm not travelling with my mother-in-law. That would require two separate rooms, and preferably separate resorts;)
