Can I still fit on the rides with a backpack. The reason I really need to know this answer - yesterday we visited our local amusement park. On a lot of the rides, it was a really tight fit for my big butt and hips. When I say tight - I mean tight - my hips and butt barely fit into a lot of the seats. It was snug with know room for error. I still have the bruises this morning to show for it. I wear a size 18 (Short) pants to give you and idea of my weight.

I need honest replies to this questions. when I got home last night, I said I to myself - you need to lose some weight so you can fit on rides at Disney.

This will be the first time for me going on some of the "thrill" rides because my daughter is tall enough. Single parent - no child swap for me.

I look foward to the "thrill" rides but don't know if I can go because I definetly want to take a backpack of some sorts to the parks for the equipment I have listed below. A fanny pack is out of the question since I have enough "padding" in the front already.

I am definitely going to try loose some weigh before I go.

Here is my list of items. My digital camcorder and digital camcamer are very small about the size of my palm.

Digital Camcorder
Digital Camera
Extra Battery for Cams
Extra Cards for Camera
Planner w/pocket pc
Autography Book & Pen
Resort ID card
Credit Card
Drivers License
Heath Insurance Card
$20 Cash
Rubber Band Brush/Comb
Envelope for Keepsakes
Gum
Sunglasses w/straps
Insect Repellent
Light Jacket
Cell Phone
Ponchos
Lipstick & Lip Balm
baby wipes

Any tips will be appeciated!!! I have already checked out Deb's WDW at Large info. I need some recent experiences!!!!

You won't have to worry about fitting on the rides at Disney the way you would have to worry about it at some of the other types of parks. I have heard of many larger people fitting in just fine.
But I can relate to the " I have to lose weight before I go "
I want to lose weight also since I have gained quite a bit over the winter. Also it helps with all that walking you have to do at Disney. I try to get myself into walking shape before I go so I won't feel like I'm going to die after my first day!
Good luck.... also... there is a great group on here on losing weight. A great group of people and lots of fun. Check it out!!!!

No worries at all about fitting in the rides. I can fit in all of them (I am a 18-20 now but was a 24 and still had no problems.) You will want to take your backpack off when you get on the rides anyway. I have one of those that you just sling over one shoulder. Have fun!!!
