I need help sorting this out

Hi Hi...

So... a few months ago i booked our familys december trip to disneyland through disney vacation packages...park hoppers included.

Since then my DH and i bought premium annual passes.

Where i am confused is...

can we save our parkhoppers purchased in the package for later use by my mother on a future trip within the year of purchase?

Because that would be like getting another "annual pass" in that we could take her on 3 weekend trips this year without having to purchase additional tickets. hhhmmmm... which would be a good thing!

I just want to know if this is doable? Or are the parkhoppers only good for us to use. I know the annual passes are usable only unto one person.


Also... i've gotten the annual pass cards in the mail..they are so little i was worried about losing them!
Now..where do i go with them? and what do i do? Meaning i need to take them somewhere like WillCall Or???

The parkhoppers you get in your package will have an expiration date on them. Most likely they are only good until early January 2009. Check them if you already have them or call WDTC and ask when they expire.

They aren't tied to you, so you are free to give them to your mom to use.

The AP's that you purchased will get you through the gates, but you will need to have them "processed" at the Bank on Main Street in DL. Take your AP vouchers and a photo id and they will take your photo and print you out your official pastic card.

Hhmmm wow.. i thought the parkhoppers would be valid longer..

i know my mom won't be ready to go back in january.. feb.. yes but not jan. that would be too soon for her.

i wish the parkhopper passes had a longer shelf life than a month.

The reason they expire annually is because they typically raise prices annually. Disney doesn't like not getting their money. . .

What you can do, and I have heard of others doing this, is taking the hoppers that are about to expire and paying the difference to get new hoppers that will be active for another year. That way you don't feel like you need to sell them or anything. I'm sure others will post about their experiences with this, or you could just call Guest Services at DLR and they'll tell you your options. But first, I'd check those hoppers to confirm the expiry date.

Dangermouse..if i wanted to get my mother an annual pass with those parkhoppers i have.. would they go to the purchase price of that annual pass?
would it be one days purchase towards the annual pass?

or would it be the sum of passes that i have towards it? probably not.

You may use one parkhopper pass to upgrade to one annual pass. So as a hypothetical, if you have a 3-day parkhopper worth $169 (the price you paid for it will be embedded on the card), your mother can use that hopper to upgrade to an AP. She will need to use the hopper for entry, and then go to the Bank on Main Street and they will credit her $169 toward the purchase of whichever AP she plans to purchase.

I think we will upgrade her to an annual pass.. then we can do another family trip in the spring and it won't hardly cost anything.
