First off I will apologize for the Ebook of questions you are about to read. And I will thank you in advance for any advice and answers you can provide!

We are cruising on the December 3rd Fantasy.

1. I haven't made hotel reservations because we didn't know if we would all be driving down together or some of us flying in until this morning. Obviously many if not all of the hotels are full. We don't need hotel parking but any suggestions or areas around Port Canaveral that I could search? We will be driving down from the Carolinas.

1A. We have always stayed at hotels with the parking package. Whereas we drive over to the port with my mother and her electric wheelchair to the port. Then one of us drives the SUV back to the hotel and rides back with the others on the shuttle to the port. Our group this year is small with just my father, mother, myself, my middle son and my youngest son. So we've decided to park at the port.

1B. Port parking at Port Canaveral. My mother uses an electric wheel chair. Is there any risk of the parking lot filling up? Silly question maybe but we usually fly in and or sail out of FLL or MIA.

2. Port arrival time especially parking at the port dealing with the extra time with my mothers wheelchair etc.

3. Embarkation time? We are Siver Castaway Cay (almost gold) members.

4. Which night on my sailing will be Pirate night? (I bought our youngest a pirate costume).

5. How many nights are formal nights now days on DCL and which nights are they on my sailing?

6. Are the other nights still cruise casual? Or any other theme nights?

7. Our son turns 6 during the week of the cruise. Is the routine the same of going to guest services and or the dining staff and requesting a cake when on board or is there a way I can request and pay for it it now? I haven't found a link for it online.

8. How can I find out which dock we will be docking at in St. Thomas? With my mother being in a electric wheelchair it would really help to plan.

9. Any advice, information about decorations, traditions, theme nights, anything that you can think of.

10. Wifi. PLEASE no hate. I was surprised that DCL hasn't updated their wifi packages like the other big Cruiselines have done. Again no hate. DCL is my favorite cruiseline in customer service, food, accommodations, private island etc. but again I was surprised. My eldest son and I did back to back cruises this summer for his Highschool graduation gift before he started college this Fall. CCL has a social package for $5.00 a day. You have unlimited Facebook, Facebook messenger, Instagram, snapchat. There are 2 other packages where you can access internet and stream videos. Before the hate. I do understand the need to put down the devices and disconnect and then connect with the family. Last Christmas my husband I took our 3 sons on a 8 night cruise over Christmas and it was great to disconnect. But if your entire family isn't sailing and you need to keep in touch $5.00 a day using Facebook messenger is a god send. Especially this past summer when we were sailing for 14 days. So what are my options? I promise I did read over the number of GB's but it confuses me. I admit I just don't know how to judge how much is needed.

Sorry to ask so many questions and at the last minute. Our eldest sons are 18 and 15.5 and we have a late in life gift who is 5. We are experienced cruisers but have taken a break from cruising DCL. Cruising DCL with my parents has been our tradition and my mothers health hasn't permitted her to sail until now. So yeah we are able to start sailing Disney again. We are thrilled to be back and to experience the new ships.

Thank you in advance for your time and patience.

I answered on the other forum. (saw that one first) :teeth:

The dress code for dinners are just recommendations. You can wear shorts and flip flops every night or dress in a tux every night if you wish.

We are on this cruise too! Second cruise and first EC cruise, so I looked at the personal navigator from last year around the same time and some of the recent ones to get an idea. I love Disney Cruise Line Blog for my nerdy researching.

If they stay with last year and EC cruises in October (which I'm sure they will), formal night is 2nd night and pirate night is 4th night.

We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites down the street from the port. It got mixed reviews, but it was the best deal for my family of 5 that included parking, shuttle and breakfast for all of us. Not too worried about it as we will get there late and it will be for only one night.

I'm sure everyone else can weigh in better than I can since it's just my 2nd cruise, but that's some of the stuff I've found out.

Unless you do Palo or Remy. Their dress codes ARE enforced and are not "suggestions".

RE: Hotel

Earlier this year we stayed at the Wakulla Suits in Cocoa Beach - 2 bedroom units that sleep 5. Not the nicest place you've ever stayed, but not the ickiest either. Beach Access. Lots of restaurants close by.
