I need Fun Card advice, please.

We live about 1 1/2 hours away from Disney and will have APs by my birthday. Do you think it would be worth my while to drive all that way to get a Fun Card and do some Christmas shopping? I would spend about $10 for lunch and use about 1/3 of a tank of gas.

I really dislike the drive but could take my son to a park which he'd love. I have a 2-year-old nephew who's a Mickey freak and I thought I could cover his Christmas gift and maybe pick up a few things for my son.

Can I use the card at stores that have toys and games? Do I have to use the card that day or can I save it, and can I use it on marked-down merchandise?

Only you can decide if it's worth the trip, but I can tell you that your birthday fun card will be worth $79 and is good for pretty much any merchandise at any of the disney owned stores (which are most of the stores at the parks) as well as world of disney at downtown disney and also any local disney store that may be near you. There is no problem using it on marked down stuff and it has no expiration date, so you can keep using it until you spend all the money on it.

That's really good information-thanks. I'll have to think about it. I'd say it would be worth it if only I didn't hate the drive so much. Wish my birthday fell on a weekend.

For sure we could do a few fun things or I probably wouldn't be considering this. Let's just say I could never be a professional driver. When my husband asked me what's my favorite car, I said the one that comes with a chauffuer.
Oh, I'll probably do it. It seems to make good financial sense.
