DH recently took a pay cut to become a manager at his collision shop (yes, management gets paid less if you can believe that). He took it because he has a bad back and working on cars was causing alot of pain. He took the job with the stipulation that if he couldn't get by on the pay, or he didn't care for the job, he could go back to being a regular collision guy.

Well, now the boss says no way to going back to working on cars, AND he's going to cut his pay even further because it's too slow right now. If he were working on cars, he'd be doing fine financially.

DH is downright miserable, which is making me miserable too. What would you do?:(

I'm sorry, that's horrible. I'm not sure what I would do. I'll pray for you.

Does not seem like a fair situation. Is looking into a different shop a possibility? {{{Hugs}}}...I hope it all works out for you.

What a dilemma. It sounds like your boss wants your husband to quit. Not a good situation. I agree that your husband should look at other job options, including the possibility of re-training. Sorry to hear about this.

My h used to be a mechanic. But for things like this and the pay, we couldn't live off of what he made, or barely. So he changed careers. He works on heating and air conditioning now on commerical buildings.

start sending out resume's (or filling out applications or whatever would be appropriate)
