No, not because I don't like what mine says (although that's true sometimes) but because it's not reliable or consistent. I weighed about five or six times this morning and got a 10-pound difference between the highest and lowest readings! The reading I got most often was about 5 pounds lower than last week, but I didn't believe it. (See, I've had a lot of practice lately not giving into temptation....) (Besides, I didn't want to have a GAIN next week because I took a "false loss" today.)

I finally settled on a conservative 1-pound loss after getting that a couple of times. Also, this scale is hard to read - has a dial face, not a digital reading, and I have to have bright light AND wear my glasses, and even then it's hard to tell where the pointer is.

SO: who can recommend a good scale?? Or at least a good brand or type to look for?

Tanita's are the best and usually weigh in half pounds if not smaller increments!!!!:D

I read your post on the Labor Day challenge and had to come and say hello! I have no idea what to tell you on the scale department!

I threw mine away - can you believe it? I found the one at my local grocery store (a HUGE scale at the entrance) is calibrated with my doctor's office, so I use that one. Plus, it keeps me from weighing too much.

The only other thing I could recommend is maybe talk to your doc and see if they can recommend one.

Good luck with your new scale and with the Labor Day Challenge!

Sears is now selling a WW brand scale. Supposed to be as accurate as the ones at meetings. They start at $40.

I just bought a new scale about two months ago because my old one did the same thing yours does. I LOVE my new scale. I got it from Target. It was on sale for $43 and I had my coupon for another 10% off. I debated on whether or not I wanted to pay that much but I am so glad I did. It is by Health - o - meter and is digital. It weighs to .2 instead of .5 like my old one did and I really like that. It also has where you can program in your age, height and sex along with your goal weight. It measures your body fat too. You can program it for 5 people. After you weigh yourself, it flashes how much you have lost as well as how much you have to go to your goal weight. It has really been consistent and Ihave been very pleased. I weigh myself everyday - I know people say not to do this but it works for me- and I write down each day how much I weigh. I have been able to measure my progress and it keeps me going. So far I have lost over 14 pounds in two months of FIRMing and watching what I eat.

I bought my mom a WW scale from Sears & she loves it. It was $35 or $40, and it is very accurate (no matter how many times you step on it!).

I'd like to get one for myself now.
