I need a little encouragement- cause I'm getting annoyed..

OK, I'm in the process of closing a resale at BWV.

I found out on March 5th that I passed ROFR. I was told my "closing date" was April 9th. So far, I've not gotten my closing paperwork. I've called TTS and the escrow agent and I'm being told that Disney hasn't gotten the estoppel back yet.

Meanwhile, a fellow Diser with the "closing date" of April 7th has already gotten her membership card and now folks who passed ROFR after me are getting their closing paperwork.

This is getting incredibly frustrating. I've watched the board for a while and seen folks anxiously wait for ROFR, but NOT the closing paperwork.

Anyone ( besides me ) had this experience?

That is my closing date too! I haven't gotten anything either. I was told by my guy at TSS that I wouldn't until the day or two before. Good Luck to us both!

It's not just you. We actually had ROFR process early, but had a looong wait for final paperwork and closing.

We had a bit of delay for the estoppel to come back as well. I know part of the process was a delay in the seller turning in the paperwork. In actuality it was really not a delay, just we had everything done by sundown the day we rec'd it vs someone who wasn't nearly as excited as we were. Once we closed though everything went faster than anticipated. We had our number to make ressies in a few days, planner in about 10 days, and the ID cards w/i 2 weeks. We went through TSS and were very happy. In retrospect we really went through the process in the timeline given, it just felt like forever because we were hopelessly excited !

Yes.. that is the one big drawback of resale. We went thru resale, it is frustrating.. but all I can say have some patience, it will be worth it!!!

We did, yes. We paid the extra fee for the quick close to Timeshare Store and then the sellers waited until the last possible moment to send back the paperwork to finish closing. It was really really frustrating. Since the initial purchase, I've only added on points buying from Disney directly. That process is SO much easier than a resale that it is unbelievable.

It's not just you. We actually had ROFR process early, but had a looong wait for final paperwork and closing.

This was our experience as well. Total process time was about 6-7 weeks. It was soooooo hard to wait. Alot of it can depend on how timely the seller is with returning their paperwork. Not all sellers send it back immediately and cant close until that is taken care of.

We did have a terribly long ROFR (over a month) and our closing (which we wanted early) was questionable until the last minute because our seller wouldn't get her paperwork back. We were just about to pull out of the contract. Then she came through. I know that Disney was backed up after we closed because the girl who does the inputing was out (according to TSS, DVC only has one full time employee for many things). So when they are out, I guess things would get way backed up.

I saw you got your waitlist for your May trip - can you borrow points/use points from that contract to cover your new reservations so the closing timing isn't an issue?

I'm actually borrowing all the points for my May trip from my sister who is also an owner. She just doesn't have enough points to make my June ressie left. ( When I close I'm going to pay back all the points I owe her )

That's a bummer. The only other suggestion I have is to rent points from someone now and then try renting yours later.

I hope you guys close close to your date. I hated the waiting especially since we were cutting it close like you guys. We had a March closing and wanted a May reservation. We got a ressie at SSR but we had to sweat it out.

I have always used 2 months as an estimated closing time for a resale. We have purchased from 3 different resellers and It doesn't seem to matter who you buy from, they all take about 2 months.

Actually, we lost power.. AND internet all nite. I'm so glad the papers came! They're already signed and the check is in the mail so it's all out of my hands now, but hopefully there is an end in site.

Yea!! Almost there. It took us about 2 months, but we aren't going until 2010 so no rush really
