I need a CCCC resort!

We just booked the Super 8 on Katella for $42 a night. From what I've heard, it's recently been remodeled and very good hotel for the price. Clean and cheap are the main things.

ETA ~ **I'm an idiot! We did not stay at the Super 8 in July ~ we stayed here - Motel 6 Sorry ~ I know nothing about the Super 8 on Katella!

You'll be fine ~ DD and I spent 2 nights there early July, with mid day breaks *so doing the walk to and from twice* it was a bit much. But 2 healthy guys *which you appear to be* should be fine ~ we'd stay there again if visiting when park hours were 10am-8pm *we don't take a break when the hours are like that.

Thanks so much! We've not heard much about the hotel, other than for what you pay it's pretty good. Couldn't get much of an answer on the actual walking distance, but was told it's about 15 minutes? Thats not bad. We don't take breaks at all while we're there, so the only time it might be a pain in the butt is when it's midnight and after walking all day in the parks, having to walk back to the hotel, but we can handle it. :)

We stayed there a few years ago and it wasn't bad. It was clean and that was what mattered

Again sorry ~ I have no experience with the Super 8 - we stayed at the Motel 6 :flower3:

I just commented on this hotel in another thread...I feel a bit like an advertisement tonight! This is the hotel I generally stay at (unless I can convince the others in my party that the Hojo is worth the extra cash, which it TOTALLY is in my opinion :snooty: ;)) I have zero complaints about any of our stays there however...the walk is about 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you move. The rooms are clean, the beds are fine, and the staff is friendly. It's not as close as I would like but the money I save staying there is hard to resist. Hope that helps!

Why can't DL have a value resort?!? ...
I'm basically looking for something that is Clean, Close (needs to be within walking distance), Comfortable ( I cannot stand rock hard beds) and Cheap (ie CCCC!)
Sorry... You are only allowed to pick 3 out of the 4 "C"'s at Disneyland!
To be just like a WDW Value Resort doesn't it have to be not within walking distance? I think we can find something a couple miles away. ;)

This made me :rotfl2:. Of course if it was just like a WDW Value resort and located a couple miles away it would have complimentary bus service so if you can find me that I am more than willing to be several miles away :rolleyes1

Does Columbus day really draw crowds? I didn't think schools actually got out for it!

When I first started planning our trip I was hoping for the end of September beginning of October but my husband is gone hunting so I can't go then.

I was really hoping the middle if October would be slower...

It seems I've seen here that some schools get the whole week..a Fall break...then of course is some other break..and another...and then....

Anyway..I find hotels.com has the best prices and getawaytoday the best packages. Tropicana is not too expensive, and it's pretty nice and close. Jolly Roger is pretty cheap and walkable. Still, book the room and then get your tickets separately..I find that is cheaper.

Isn't HoJo without the ET rate still about $80 or less? I would go HoJo all the way! Can't go wrong.

But I have heard wonderful things about the Tropicana and Candy Cane Inns too!

We booked the Plaza for the 17th to the 20th at 59 per night... It's not the fanciest place, but the rooms are clean (all recently had new carpet installed) the beds are comfortable and it's close.

We started staying there, because they allow dogs and we often take ours, but now we tend to stay there regardless of if we bring the dog, because it serves our needs just fine.

I think the Hojo with the Entertaiment rate is half off, but most people say $59 so maybe $118 is regular. They also give AP holders a discount I think 20%. And DISboard members %15 off. So it's oks. But it is hard to get the Ent. rate for a whole trip not to mention two consecutive nights.
