I am so new to this whole thing. You all sound like the sisters I have been looking to hear from. I have slated January 8th, 2009 as my magical wedding day. DFTW is saying that I am some sort of lottery? What is that? Please, please help me shed some light on this.

Welcome! I remember being told that. If I remember correctly, it means that there may be others requesting that same date. And they can't confirm that to be your date until you've reached the 12 month or 8 month mark (depending on the venue you chose).

Its been some time since they told me that, so I may be a little off. I'm sure the other brides on the boards will be able to provide you with more accurate info.

AbbyPan_ You are awesome! Thank you for replying so fast! I have a bunch of questions. Do you have a WP right now? I want to make sure i have the right planner for my "fairytale".

Yes I do have my WP. I was assigned a coordinator from the moment I called Disney, which was exactly a year ago this month.

Once I signed my contract, @ the 8 month mark in January, I was assigned to a Planner. Most of the planners seems to be amazing - mine is WONDERFUL! Just be honest with them and tell them exactly what you want and don't want - you should be fine

...and the ones who are really AMAZING are the ladies and gents on this board. They are sooo helpful. I barely bug my WP because of all the information they provide us with. Ask away!

I'm planning my wedding 5 days before yours!! How exciting! Another January 2009 bride!!!

So you already called and talked with DFTW? The lottery is when people are already looking at having a wedding the same day. It might be too early to tell, so maybe Disney is warning you of the lottery? What kind of wedding do you think you'll have? Any idea on location?

I was assigned to Kristi Davis as my coordinator and I just LOVE her!!!!

More and more 2009 brides are popping up on this board, which means our big days are getting closer!!!
